Hong Gi wouldn't talk to Steph. Instead, he turned off all the lights but the one in the bathroom. Instead, he partially shut the door. Steph knew he did it for her. When she wasn't feeling well, she didn't like sleeping in the dark.
Afterward, he slumped into an armchair across the room leaving her to sleep on the bed alone. No matter what she said, he didn't respond until she tried to go to him. He stopped her and insisted she sleep. Her head spinning, she did as she was told. She wasn't in any condition to hold a serious conversation with him anyway, but it would have been nice if he had held her while she slept.
Having Hong Gi across the room from her, just out of reach physically but a galaxy away with the lack of communication was its own form of punishment. While Steph slept, she couldn't say it was peaceful or satisfying. It was with a vortex of color and an overwhelming sense of vertigo and desperation.
