Fresh from the shower, Luke's body glistened. He shook out his hair and combed it back from his face. It was a long day. So many retakes. So much downtime between takes. He deserved every penny he earned for all the hours of his life that were wasted on waiting for other people.
It was his reality that his youth and good looks were his major selling points. Unlike a doctor or a lawyer, the odds of his career remaining profitable past the age of thirty were extremely low. He had been trained from early on to maximize his earnings early and invest wisely. So the sitting around felt like a futile drain of his youth.
It didn't help that he had to wait until after work to contact Lexy. The minutes ticketed by in slow motion, and his patience, which was tested during the best of times, was non-existent by the end of the day.
