Alec saw the two bodies fizzled away into nothingness. He backed away a little and stare at the floor for a second. "What was that?"
He staggered to the kitchen and gulped a huge amount of water, almost dropping the glass cup to the floor. Running back to his room, he rechecked his appearance with wary eyes, and thank heavens, his body was still normal.
If Alec has not reacted quicker, he couldn't imagine what they would've done to him. He kept scrutinizing his body for any obvious imperfection, but nothing seemed off.
His wary instinct saved his life. Earlier, while he was sleeping, his heart leaped uncontrollably and began beating erratically. Alec, being the cautious person immediately perked his ears and scanned the dark surrounding.
Hearing nothing, he opened his eyes a little but was shocked to notice that his eyes weren't working. That was the moment he knew that something was amiss. Has he not known earlier...
