But the Jamaican man wasn't a patient person. He looked at Alec expectantly. Alec headed to his tent and grabbed four strings of sausages, along with two bottles of water.
He then gave the Jamaican man, who gladly took it and thanked him profusely. "Listen, man, I'm only doing it considering your daughter's ailment. Don't come to me for food anymore", Alec warned and walked back to his tent.
Alec sat down to eat, but the pain in his abdomen was yet to subside. It appeared that there was shrapnel stuck inside the closed wound, which poses a problem for him.
It won't be wise to open the wound again, given the amount of blood lost just to cover it. As far as whatever was stuck inside him wasn't affecting vital organs, he was okay.
The food in his tent was more than enough to feed him for a month or two, so the need to go back to the burning city was invalid.
