Chereads / I Am A Villain At Night / Chapter 7 - Alisa.

Chapter 7 - Alisa.

Zhou Heng knew the girl, after all, he investigated the other kids of the orphanage to confirm that the hero wasn't near him.

Her name was Alisa, she was very popular in the orphanage, she had an extroverted personality, and liked to help the personnel of the orphanage taking care of the younger kids.

The first time Zhou Heng saw her, he thought that maybe she was the hero or someone related to him, but the system denied it, she was just a kind girl of the background. Since young, Grandpa Zhou taught him that the human being was driven by desire, which was the root of all conflict but was also the root of all agreements, not all humans were pieces of trash.

Evil hearts and kind hearts existed, but even someone with an evil heart will do good at some point in his life, and the same could be said for the kind heart. The girl called Alisa was someone like that, she had a kind heart that liked to help others.

After the incident in the garden, Zhou Heng continued with his training, Alisa finished talking with Jin Qian, the southern that was bullied by the bully trio, George, Harry, and Evan; brown, black, and golden-haired respectively.

Alisa looked at the blue-haired boy running around the garden with curiosity, is not the first time she saw him, in the past month she tried to talk to him a few times but he ignored her or just replied to her with short sentences. It was truly confusing to her, she took care of many of the other little kids of the orphanage, some of them were shy and reserved while others were bold and playful.

But the blue-haired southern was just calm, apart from his weird actions that didn't look like a game, he didn't do too much around the orphanage, she asked some of the personnel about him but they told her, that his brain was different from others, since young he was always daydreaming and they assumed that he was ill, until a month ago that he changed a lot, but after they talked to him, he didn't look like he was going mad, so they leave him to do his thing as long as it didn't cause troubles.

He also didn't have friends, always alone, some boys tried to copy him to understand the why about his actions but none of them endured, after being exhausted they stopped and started ignoring his actions.

Alisa was shocked that, when she thought it was a good chance to befriend him for him being scared about the threats of the bully trio, he only shrugged and was concerned about her, he wasn't pretending about being calm, other kids with a yell start shaking but him, even when Harry tried to push him, he only dodged and ignored him.

Alisa was very curious about this little guy, she was also happy about his concern, it looked like he just had weird habits, but with a warm personality. As for his warning she didn't think much about it, she had a good relationship with the personnel of the orphanage and also knew how to use their protection.

Looking at the little boy running around, she decided to tag along, the other times she tried to make contact with him, she never tried it, after all even though she was curious about him it wasn't to the point of sweating and tiring herself, but now she had an impulse, so she waited until he was near and started running with him.

After a few rounds around the garden that didn't have a defined shape, but was as big as a sports court of Zhou Heng real life, Alisa started panting heavily, she had a good physical condition, but this was too heavy for her, she looked at the blue-haired boy and he didn't seem to care about her, since the start, he only glanced at he once and keep running.

She gritted her teeth and continued while wondering if the concern he showed to her earlier was the first and last. She looked a bit aggrieved, she had a good relationship with most of the people of the orphanage and they treated her very well, but the boy keeps ignoring her on every chance she tries to befriend him.

It's not like she needs to be friends with everyone, after all, she doesn't like people that bully others like Evan group, it also isn't that she needs the care of others, she is always helping on the orphanage, many kids don't show gratitude to her and many times she has been injured while helping but that didn't stop her.

But the blue-haired boy was different in many ways, one of them was how at a young age he maintained a calm attitude even when being attacked by others, when she was at that age she was quite the coward. A difference from many of the kids in the orphanage, she had a family before coming, her parents were quite aggressive, truly members of the rat district, to this day she still didn't understand what exactly her parents do, but she understood that it wasn't anything good.

If it wasn't for her aunt to be a member of the orphanage she may still be living with her parents. Her aunt dragged her out of home after problems started coming to her house. Her parents also didn't care too much about if she stayed or disappeared

She was truly envious of this little guy, if she had that kind of courage since the start maybe it could have been of help, her parents would have paid more attention to her, and maybe her parents could decide another way of living.

Her personality started to change when she saw that the kids of the orphanage were in a worse situation than her, at first she felt guilty about that, but her aunt told her that if she was doing something bad then she just needed to do something good if the feeling didn't go away, then do another good action, and keep going until the feeling disappeared.

The words of her aunt may not be the wisest but to a little girl like her, made the change, she started working hard for the orphanage, like taking care of the kids, cleaning rooms, washing clothes, and helping in the kitchen, she felt that her progress was not small, that if she saw her parents she could confront them.

But now seeing how a boy far younger than her, someone that didn't know the faces of his parents, someone that lived the first years of his life in a daze, without friends, everyone treating him like a mentally ill boy, was without fear and even was concerned about her in adversity, made her think that her progress was laughable.

She was panting, sweating, her face was red, there were tears in her eyes, if it wasn't because she was just following his small back, she would already have crashed against a wall or anything in the way, even when her limbs were longer than his, why she couldn't catch up with him?

After another round around the garden, she slowed down until she fell on her knees, looking at the ground with a bitter smile she understood why so many other kids tried to follow him while running but after the first exhaust no one tried it again.

She also started questioning, what is the point of doing it, he may have a reason but she doesn't it was just an impulse, she may as well go back and help her aunt than keep wasting time here, she won't gain anything even if she surpasses him, much less catching up with him.

While she was on the ground recovering her breath she saw him again, passing by her side, he completed another round and without glancing at her, he kept running. Her mouth opened slightly, a dazed look in her eyes, for the next minutes she kept in the ground seeing him passing every time he finished one round.

This routine continued until she hear it.

''Food time!'' It was Frank, one of the cooks.

She saw how the boy started slowing down, breathing rhythmically, it wasn't until he stopped that Alisa could see his face, sweating with his clothes drenched, his eyes had tears, his legs were shaking, his dark blue hair was wet and messy, but even in that condition he slowly walked to the dining room.

She was truly astonished, he has been doing this every day since a month ago, it's not the first time she saw him in that condition, but this is the first time she understood his condition.

''Alisa, let me help you.'' She hear a voice at her side, she saw Gavin the caretaker of the garden smiling at her, they had a good relationship, she often helped in the safety of other kids in the garden, his eyes looked very concerned he wanted to stop her when she started running with the weird boy, but even when he called her a few times she ignored him.

Alisa's gaze went from Gavin's hand to the boy that already reached the entrance of the orphanage to walk toward the dining room, for some reason, she wanted to cry.

''Do you feel bad? You shouldn't have tried that hard, come, let me get you to Jenny, you need to rest and eat something to recover energy.'' Gavin's concerned voice awakened.

Her stomach started growling, she truly needed something to eat. At this moment a thought passed in her mind, and she raised her head quickly, trying to get up by herself she stumbled.

''Careful!'' A hand grabbed her shoulder and helped.

''Thanks, Uncle Gavin... Can you help me get to the dining room? I need to go quickly.'' Alisa said with an exhausted voice, but her eyes were no longer wet, they were still red but she seemed to have recovered her mental strength, she needed it, after all, even if she didn't have the condition and wasn't as strong as him that didn't need the help of anyone, she wanted to help him, another impulse related to him.

''Sure, let's go quickly, Claire prepared steak specially for you.'' Gavin said with a gentle smile, most of the personnel of the orphanage treated her like a little niece.

Alisa nodded, steak is indeed delicious and her favorite, that would help, after all, who doesn't like it? With a smile, she wondered if he would like it. Alisa with shaking legs started walking to the dining room.
