Chapter 18 - Past vs Present

After two hours

"California looks so wonderful at night. I wonder how many secrets are hidden in its colourful streets." Alice was standing by the large wall-sized window in the living room of Junho's room. It had been over two hours for the girl waiting for her boss yet she did not complain about it once. The night view was just breathtaking. And she wanted nothing but to keep watching the beautifully lighted city. Standing there, her whole life started replaying into her eyes, all the events unfolding one by one; even those when she wished she could get an escape. But it was never possible. An escape from life. Is it?

She was so immersed in thoughts that clicking of the door opening and closing followed by some steps went unnoticed by her. Well, until she felt a pair of lips attached to her nape. The traumatic shock possessed her body, her feet anchored to the ground. The lips started moving to the side of her neck, softly sucking on the skin after inhaling the scent, the redbud. It was the last thing to cripple the self-control of the CEO.

After Alice walked away from the dinner table, pouting like a kid for not being allowed to go out of the house after evening, Junho demonstrated a great deal of patience with the boy, well, after throwing two punches at him when he clarified that he would have taken the girl tonight if the CEO did not barge into their lovey-dovey conversation like a control freak.

At the settlement of the matter, which involved the cops showing up, the attorney from the boy's side since he turned out to be a son of a political personality of California, Lucas dragged Junho to the bar of the hotel to calm him down. It did prove good because once Junho's anger was drowned in alcohol, they came back to talking terms. But that was not a business talk anymore. Lucas asked Junho for how long he had been in one-sided love with his secretary who seemed naive to it.

That made the CEO of The Green Bay earn a death glare from Junho with a couple of lines like 'My knuckles have been itching.' and 'Do you have a death wish?'. Lucas had a friendly personality and since Junho was his guest, he gave the latter some advice on unrequited love, however, this time he did not state anything explicitly. Of course, he did not have a death wish.

After fully losing himself to the beverage, they called it a night and took their leave. Junho had forgotten that Alice was waiting for him. When he entered the living room, Alice's back was facing him which reminded him of his ex-girlfriend, Xiu. However, it was the natural scent of his assistant that made him lose the last straw.

The girl was thrown on the large couch when she turned around after summoning every cell in her body. Her breath hitched, the same scene from the dark night flooding in her eyes when Junho jumped on top of her. And it all went black.

Wait, it did not go all black. She was standing on her feet. But the modern hotel room was switched with an old-fashioned bedroom. The flamelight was lit in one corner of the room, dimly illuminating the rest of the place as the flame was near to die out. Then her gaze shifted at the scented candles dissipating the smell of redbud in the room. It was so peaceful, too good to be true. Nonetheless, the sound of sinful moans jolted her. Snapping her head to the source of it, she saw two bodies in the bed, entangled in the bedsheets.

The boy had long black hair, the same as the length of the girl's. He was hovering over the girl, his face dipped in the curve of her neck, the silk material slipping down his body as he slammed into her hole harder.

"I'm close, Liang." The girl breathed out, her nails digging in the back of the boy. The voice sounded familiar to Alice's ears. Too familiar. She started taking slow steps towards them.

"I got you, princess." Alice felt as if her soul left her body when she heard the second voice in the room. Regardless she continued getting close to them as their faces were not visible to her.

After the release of their orgasms, the boy pulled out and collapsed on the top girl, hugging her tightly from the waist. Shaky and unsteady breaths had filled the room. Once their breaths were calmed, the boy leaned his face over the princess' and linked their foreheads.

"I love you, princess." The earthquake was always disastrous but it was not the earth that was shaking but Alice's body when their faces came into her sight. Why did the girl look like her? She was standing there. How could she be at two places? On top of all, WHY THE BOY HAD THE FACE OF GEON JUNHO!

"I love you too, Laing. You are my universe." The princess whispered switching her gaze between his eyes and lips. And just like that, they connected their worlds.

Alice's eyes shot open but it looked as if she was still dreaming because she was under Junho, kissing him back. When did he start kissing him? When did she start responding back?

Her hands were holding his face, lips moving in sync. It could not be true. It had to be the dream. But she could feel it in her bones. The heat, the passion, the devotion, the longing, it all was riding her blood. Her hands seemed to have minds of their own as her fingers travelled to the buttons of Junho's shirt, unbuttoning them. Junho squeezed her ass to which her lips parted, his tongue entering the territory.

First, his tongue wandered in the wet cavern alone, tasting every bit of it but then, the battle began when Alice's fingers were curled in the hair of the CEO, pulling him down, and fighting for the dominance. None of them appeared to be sane. But it did not seem enough to put down the fire that burning inside them. His one hand lifted the girl, still kissing, more like eating each other's faces, and the other travelled to the back of her dress. The sound of the zipper coming down was what snapped Alice into the current time. Before the CEO would take her dress off, she pushed him back, and the sound of a loud slap echoed in the room.
