Dmitri and Lev were then dismissed by the captain after their lengthy conversation with him. By some sort of a miracle, Lev actually managed to join Dmitri's and the captain's intellectual conversation about space technology. It was thanks to his stockpiled knowledge of science fiction games and novels. Had it not been for those, he'd probably be at a loss for words while listening to their conversation.
As the doors to the captain's office slid shut behind them, Dmitri and Lev both heaved a sigh of relief while they clutched the chest portion of their space suit. They were just glad that the captain didn't execute them after getting their space pod from them. Still, they couldn't help but think the captain had ulterior motives for keeping them alive. They just had no idea what it was.
"I guess we're moving to the final phase, huh... This is going to be hard."
"What do you mean?"
