She had a premonition, Wyatt Wright must have known she was about to pierce the paper window between them.
From the very beginning, she didn't just want to watch a movie; the words she left unsaid at the airport had already revealed her intentions—she meant to use the movie as an opportunity to ask for his answer.
She felt a bit uneasy and wanted to test him.
"I got a fish bone stuck in my throat."
Wyatt Wright put down his chopsticks, speaking faster than before, "Is it big or small?"
"Small."
He frowned, trying to remember how Levi Wright's mother, Miss Watson, dealt with a fish bone incident.
"Try drinking some soup, take bigger sips."
Rae Bennett drank a big gulp of soup.
"Did it go down?"
"No."
Wyatt Wright put some lettuce from under the pork ribs into her bowl: "Swallow it fast and see."
"Oh."
She did as told, eyes firmly fixed on Wyatt Wright.
He was somewhat anxious, "Did it go down?"
Rae Bennett shook her head.
