At 8:13 PM, a taxi descended from the Lanton River overpass and stopped on the side of the road.
"Here we are, Lanton River."
The passenger in the back seat was still sitting, her smartphone connected to a pair of earphones she had been wearing ever since she got into the car.
The taxi driver turned around to remind her, "Miss, we've arrived."
Eliza Morgan removed one earpiece and took out all the cash from her wallet, handing it over with both hands, "I'd like to stay in the car for a bit longer."
The taxi driver readily accepted the cash, "Please, take your time."
Eliza put her earphones back on and opened the car window. The car was parked in just the right spot for her to be able to see beneath the Lanton River bridge from inside the vehicle.
There was no wind tonight, and it was dry and hot. The sea was very calm.
