Little Levi stopped drawing and put down his pen.
There was a sound.
He set down the brush, hopped off the chair, pressed his ear against the wall, and listened; someone was knocking.
"Who's there?"
He went to check. Maxwell Palmer and Alumna Palmer were doing their homework, not playing hide and seek.
Then who was it?
Little Levi was very curious. He ran outside, searched the yard, and then found a door. He mustered his courage and approached it.
"Master Levi."
Aunt Filan came over, "Go play somewhere else, there's no one there."
"Someone is playing hide and seek, I heard it."
"There's no one; you heard wrong."
"Oh."
Little Levi went back to the study.
His grandfather had given him lots of snacks, but he had a cavity and couldn't eat too much.
"Grandpa, did you hear that sound?"
"What sound? Grandpa didn't hear anything." Seth Watson was a bit hard of hearing.
