The models were ready, and Daniel Turner had looked around the Photography Studio but didn't see Wyatt Wright.
Faint voices came from upstairs; Daniel Turner went up and saw Wyatt Wright standing at the Equipment Room door.
Daniel Turner called out, "Mr. Wyatt."
Wyatt Wright seemed not to hear.
Daniel Turner approached closer, "Mr. Wyatt."
Only when he got closer did he realize Wyatt Wright was on the phone. He looked up at Daniel Turner, pressed his finger to his lips, and signaled for Daniel Turner to be quiet.
Daniel Turner waited on the side.
Outside the Equipment Room was a corridor with windows opened at both ends; the wind blew from one end to the other, bringing with it the outside heat and the chirping of cicadas.
The atmosphere was strange.
Daniel Turner's instincts were always sharp; he felt it—a strong, unstable, and yet still calm magnetic field around Mr. Wyatt, as if on the brink of an uprising.
Daniel Turner couldn't help but prick up his ears.
