Yale Allen had a host of illnesses: psychogenic headaches, electrolyte imbalances, nutrition-related anemia, gastric dysmotility, anorexia nervosa, and hypothyroidism.
And then there was his stomach, which had started bleeding and perforated.
The doctor performed emergency surgery, and half an hour post-op, he awoke.
It was Yale Allen who woke up.
He looked around: "Why am I here?"
"Asher Harrington brought you here." There was a sofa in the VIP ward with newspapers under the coffee table, and Wyatt Wright sat on the sofa reading one.
Next to the hospital bed was a heart monitor, and hanging from the infusion stand was a bag of blood.
The anesthesia hadn't completely worn off yet, so Yale Allen was a bit groggy. He asked Wyatt, "Is it serious?"
Wyatt grunted in affirmation.
