At nine o'clock, Wyatt Wright came to the funeral home to pick up Rae Bennett. He waited for nearly half an hour before she came out.
She looked listless.
"Tired?"
She said, "Such a pity."
Wyatt Wright didn't say anything, just hugged her.
She felt more and more like Madam Raven, her emotions affected by her work, pitying this, regretting that, not knowing where all these feelings came from. She wasn't like this before.
"Rae Bennett."
Her train of thought was suddenly interrupted when she looked up to see Linda Roberts getting out of a white car.
"We need to talk."
"It seems we don't have much to talk about."
Wyatt Wright was also present.
Linda Roberts, taking into account he was an "outsider," let her gaze linger on him for quite a while.
He didn't plan to step aside.
So Linda Roberts just said it outright, "You're going to donate your liver to Sean Bennett?"
Rae Bennett responded dismissively, "Depends on my mood."
"If you donate, you will regret it for sure."
