Because it was too late, Wyatt Wright planned to return to Vigalanka the next day.
Rae Bennett was still jet lagged and fell asleep on the way to the hotel. When she woke up, she was in bed and Wyatt wasn't beside her.
Rae Bennett washed her face and went to open the door.
There were several people at the door, and she only recognized Oliver Bailey. She asked him, "Where is Wyatt?"
"Young Master Nine is downstairs in the security room. He should be back soon."
Rae Bennett returned to her room to wait.
There was a plate of fruit on the table, fruit she had never seen before—dark red, the size and shape of plums.
She asked Oliver Bailey, "What fruit is this?"
"Pine fruit, sent over by Remy Wright."
"Can it be eaten?"
"Yes, it can."
Rae Bennett tasted one. It was sour and sweet.
Oliver Bailey was uncharacteristically talkative today: "Pine fruit is produced in Roshenge, and in the Roshenge language, it sounds the same as 'thank you.'"
