When she arrived at the door, Yvonne Finley rang the doorbell.
No one responded for a long time.
Out of options, Yvonne Finley took out her phone and looked up Warrior Tucker's WeChat. She recalled all the passwords she had given her for the house during their previous chats. There were no secrets between them, Yvonne promptly tried them.
Surprisingly, one of them worked.
She discovered the passwords were the same for all of Tucker's places.
She pushed open the door, knowing it had unlocked.
Inside, darkness swallowed the house whole.
A heavy odor of alcohol and tobacco hung in the air.
There was also a palpable air of dejection.
Finally, Yvonne found a man huddled at the foot of the bed in one of the bedrooms.
Unlike the rest of the house littered with bottles and cigarette butts, the bedroom was surprisingly clean. The curtains were open, letting in light and a semblance of life.
He held a woman's jacket tightly in his arms, one Yvonne recognized as Tucker's favorite.
