Daisy Lambert left right after giving her something, not wanting to intrude on the young couple's moment.
Yvonne Finley stared at the ring in her hand in silence for quite a while.
Caleb Baker lowered his lashes, slightly bowed his body, resting his chin on her shoulder, his voice hoarse, "Does it weigh on your mind?"
Yvonne Finley came back to reality, "It's fine."
He chuckled softly, "My mom is just like that, she doesn't hide her feelings for people she likes, but..."
His hands slipped under her armpits, lifting her up with ease. Yvonne Finley instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, "Hey..."
Caleb Baker circled his arm around her slim waist and left the tea room, heading down a quiet path. The night was cool and peaceful. She was held in his arms, greeted by the intoxicating moonlight. She felt as if he was constantly pulling her up from the swamp, offering her a beautiful, magical island and continuously confessing his love for her.
"Caleb Baker, put me down."
