Daisy Lambert did not care what anyone else thought. She folded up her fan and walked straight to Yvonne Finley's side. The smile on her face was not just for show, she was genuinely happy.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming today?"
She knew Caleb Baker well. He was not a fan of these types of gatherings, hence she didn't invite him. To her surprise, he brought Yvonne Finley along.
"Isn't it a surprise?" Caleb replied nonchalantly.
"You kid, if I knew Yvonne was coming, I would not have spent so much time with those people." Daisy Lambert rolled her eyes at her son before warmly shaking Yvonne's hand with a smile that spoke volumes. "Your hand is so cold, let's go inside to warm up."
Yvonne simply smiled in response.
Then, she looked up.
And made eye contact with Huratio Baker.
She nodded politely, greeting him with open composure.
His gaze, however, darkened, clearly thrown off balance by her appearance.
