Yvonne Finley's hands trembled slightly.
It was as if something invisible had struck her heart, an overwhelming feeling spreading to her limbs, unsettling and overwhelming her.
She was distraught.
The feeling seemed to be whispering in her ear, eager to convey an answer that would lighten her mind.
She gently ran her fingertips over the smooth and delicate texture of the jade piece.
Suddenly, a sour feeling spread through her nose.
She closed the small box.
Clutching it tight, she threw herself into his arms, and Caleb Baker, taken by surprise, bumped his back heavily against the wall. He grunted, a hint of a smile playing on his lips as he casually pulled her waist closer, "Attempting murder?"
Yvonne was at a loss to describe her feelings at that moment.
She just wanted to drown in his embrace.
"This piece of jade…"
"Yes, it's for you."
Yvonne bit her lip, with a hint of bewilderment and moisture in her eyes, "Is it really for me? Why? After all…"
It is expensive.
