Chereads / Demonic System: Demonic Integration / Chapter 31 - Catching Them Off-Guard

Chapter 31 - Catching Them Off-Guard

Dean peeked out of the big cabinet where he was hiding in the academy office with his ShAK-15 on his hand. On the other side of the office was Orion without any armor and only armed with Dean's M4-EC. Both of them were wearing the standard military uniform for duty while waiting for Mick and his goons to steal documents from the office.

Suddenly, someone opened the door. It was Mick, followed by two Menkaids from behind. One was a wolf type Menkaid while the other one was an elf type Menkaid. The information was solid, Mick was indeed planning to steal intelligence from the academy. Most likely, they were looking for any information regarding the current military installation.

Or worse, they were looking for the armory's spare card so they could steal weapons. The opportunity of ambushing him might come sooner or later. The plan was simple, the moment Dean needed a backup, Orion would start engaging. They both were communicating through an ear piece attached to their smart phone.

"The patrol team doesn't notice us, as usual," Mick said.

How did he go pass the security patrolling the academy? Well, he probably smacked several heads together while infiltrating the building. Still, the two Menkaids needed to be neutralized.

His finger was itchy on the trigger. He wanted to immediately blast the Menkaids' heads out of its skulls, but he needed to wait for Mick to actually open something. Once Mick opened something, it would be justified to start engaging the targets. There were only two of them, and as expected, only one of them brought a silenced pistol.

Dean waited as he took a picture using his phone. It would be an engaging evidence for Mick's incarceration, or the justification of his shooting if the need arose. Dean couldn't help but to giggle quietly behind his balaclava.

He had faced far worse odd than this as a scavenger. This was only a piece of cake. Two Menkaids and a boy with a superiority complex? They wouldn't know what hit them. Dean had enough insurance. His only concern was Orion which would serve as another eyewitness in the military court. If he died tonight, it would be a big no no.

"Boss, let's get the document fast. I feel something bad around here," one of the Menkaids said.

"Bullshit, relax, with the document, we will be rich," Mick said.

Dean could feel that Orion felt unease about this situation. Orion might be someone way stronger than him, but experience wise, Orion was only a newbie. The unease breathing was going to Dean's ear piece. Poor boy, but anything less stronger than him would be too much of a risk.

Dean looked at the chamber of his ShAK-15, the bullet was loaded and ready to be fired. As much as Dean wanted to kill them all, keeping all of the Menkaids alive would be better for the greater good. Shooting a person would require more paperworks too.

"Should we engage?" Orion whispered through the radio.

"Wait for my mark, keep your cool," Dean replied.

The three of them then surrounded a desk, the principal's desk, to be precise. Their position was pretty much exposed. It was the best time to ambush them. Dean took a deep breath as he switched the position of his gun to full-auto.

'Here goes nothing!'

Dean kicked the cabinet door and immediately aimed his rifle at those trio that were still unsure what was going on. He then shouted, "HANDS WHERE I CAN SEE 'EM! DON'T MOVE!"

Mick was clearly shocked, but the other two Menkaids were pretty much unfazed by the sudden movement from Dean. Orion followed Dean by coming outside his hiding place while aiming his rifle at one of the Menkaids.

"GOT YOU! YOU S.O.B!" Dean shouted at Mick.

One of the Menkaids suddenly moved its hand. Dean aimed his rifle at the Menkaid and shot him in the head. Blood immediately spurted out of its head and he dropped dead on the ground with the silenced pistol right beside of his hand. Mick feared his life even more.

"Who are you, please spare us," Mick begged.

"TO HELL WITH THAT! NOW GET DOWN!" Dean shouted.

Mick got down on the ground quickly. However, the other Menkaid wasn't exactly following his order. Instead, he stood still while still unfazed. It looked like the Menkaid wouldn't follow his order.

"Hey! Get down!" Orion shouted.

The Menkaid moved his hand by an inch, and Dean noticed it. Dean shot the other Menkaid with his rifle and he also dropped dead on the ground, leaving Mick as the only one alive. Dean then approached Mick as Orion put his rifle down.

Dean crouched right next to Mick, "How does it feel? Not being able to do anything, eh?"

"Please, I'm innocent."

Dean stood up then Bashed Mick's head with the back of his rifle. After that, he kicked Mick's chest with his foot. He was pissed after Mick's confession. He didn't have any mercy on Menkaids, much less a traitor.

"Do you realize that you're working with my grave enemy?" Dean asked.

"Who the fuck are you?" Mick finally asked.

"Haven't you realized this voice yet?" Dean asked.

Mick then went quiet. It was the same boy that was brought from the death. This was the same boy that embarassed him in front of the other students at the first week of school, and now, he was at his mercy.

"Man, please, don't kill me," Mick begged.

"You should have said that three months ago," Dean replied.

Orion just watched silently. He didn't have any mercy for a traitor either. He was just sitting on the desk with Dean's M4-EC rifle on his shoulder. He was there only as an eyewitness. When Dean was looking at Mick, Mick began running outside to escape from Dean.

With only one hand, he aimed his 15 mm rifle to the Mick's leg and shot him. It was all intended by Dean. He needed a reason to shoot Mick's down. The 15 mm bullet severed his leg and Mick fell to the ground. He groaned in pain as blood started flowing out of his severed leg.

Orion approached Dean, "Operation complete?"

"Yeah, it's all worth it in the end." Dean said.

"We need him as a witness, right?"

Dean nodded. He put his rifle at his back and approached Mick who was bleeding from the large wound on his knee. Dean opened his IFAK and grabbed a tourniquet to stop the bleeding on that severed leg. He applied it and the bleeding stopped.

"Now, stop being a pain in my arse!" Dean shouted as he completed the treatment.

Dean sat down on an empty desk and he pulled out his smart phone. He then called the emergency number and Adams' number. He needed the authority to capture Mick and put him into justice.

"So, for you, it's all over, eh?" Orion asked.

"More or less," Dean sighed as he put his rifle on safe mode. "Thanks bro, I owe you one."

"No sweat partner, that's what friends do," Orion smiled as he answered the question.

Moments later, Adams and several people from the military police arrived at the office. The patrol team was surprised while the military police was apprehending Mick and investigating the Menkaids. Adams approached both Orion and Dean. He was surely had a lot of questions for these two people.

"Oh boy, you have a lot of explanation to do, Barnett," Adams said.

"I will answer to any questioning," Dean said.

"And you too, Orion," Adams said.

"Yes sir, I will," Orion answered.

Adams sighed as they told the two to leave the room. Adams had a lot of questions for them. Dean would be glad to provide the answers as long as it could get Mick incarcerated in the military prison for a very long time.
