The whole plaza ignited into motion just after a few seconds of Su being knocked unconscious.
"Seal the exists and check everyone for weapons. There might be an accomplice with him" the important-looking lady at the emperor's side spoke up. Her tone bared no doubt of her obvious alpha origin.
It knocked the guards into motion while the crowd looked on toward the stage in worry.
"My lord, please excuse our lack of oversight over this matter. We shall make sure you never see this person again" the Alpha-lady bowed down to the emperor in apology. She motioned for the guards to take the prisoner away and to do away with him.
This was not the first time they had disposed of a traitor who had dared to attack their emperor but this was one of the rare times the attacker had slid past their guard.
As such, they needed to investigate how this had happened exactly and how they could prevent such occurring from happening in the future.
"I take it that this was not part of the ceremony for me?" The alpha lady shuddered as the voice ran over her.
It was rare for their emperor to speak with such a tone and it never failed to send shivers down the lady's back. She had been the royal advisor for a few centuries now but their emperor was a mystery even to her.
"This is a fault of our oversight. I will see that it is corrected as soon as possible. The emperor need not waste the precious time they have out here" the lady bowed deeper to the emperor and felt those intimidating eyes on her.
Their citizens adored their emperor but they were not aware of the depravities that lay behind that sweet face of his.
This person was a beast and could not be tamed by any means. The lady was afraid that the emperor would snap one day and that would be the end of their planet as a whole.
At least his shirt trip to earth had tamed his ferocious temper a little. Whatever had happened in-between the time their emperor went missing and his re-discovery, she was thankful for it.
"Nevermind that. What are you thinking of doing to our captive, Advisor Ray? Surely nothing too dreadful" Ray felt her hands shake at the playful tone of their emperor. He seemed interested.
It was the same tone he used before causing a ton of problems for his advisory team and it made Ray feel scared for her rapidly increasing workload shortly.
"The emperor need not worry about the captive" Ray re-inforced her words again and felt the emperor seize her up and down.
Then those eyes moved away from her just as soon. Whatever the emperor had been thinking, he did not seem to want to share it with her.
Though, his words certainly painted a clear picture of what he wanted from her side.
"Do not harm that prisoner. I would like to have a chat with him once this ceremony is over" The casual words of their emperor bored themselves into Ray's ears and she felt a headache come over her.
Darn it. This made things much more difficult for her.
The initial plan had been to get rid of the captive silently while the emperor did not know anything. But that plan had been shot down by the emperor himself.
That left Ray with only a few options she could use to get information from their captive before their emperor decided he wanted to have the prisoner for himself.
"As you wish. The prisoner will not be harmed by anyone from our side" Their emperor was in a mood and it was safer to agree with his words.
However, there were loopholes around what Ray had promised. She was sure someone from outside their ranks would help them get the truth out of their captive if she explained.
That way, it would no longer be on her head and the emperor would not be wiser.
Maybe she could even leak the captive's location and allow the people outside to do away with him without informing their emperor.
"Ray, I don't just mean our people. Make sure he is unharmed by any kind of harm till I get to meet him. I am putting this responsibility on your shoulders" Ray cursed softly as the emperor commenced her.
The emperor had already turned away from her side and was looking toward the citizens in the plaza.
The search for an accomplice was over at this point without any results to show for it. It was clear that the attacker had been acting solo.
Once it had been finalized, the festival began for real. It was also time for her to leave and follow after the captive.
The only saving grace Ray had was that her talk with the emperor had not been overheard by anyone else. It protected the image of their emperor and also created an air of mystery between him and his people.
"My lady, what should we do with the captive?" a guard asked once she was done talking with their emperor.
"Take him to a holding room and bind him down. I will be overlooking this one personally" Ray had no other choice but to take over the guard post for this captive.
Knowing their soldiers, one of them would try to kill the captive before the emperor could get to him. It would be a whole new can of worms for Ray to sort out through.
But something gave her the feeling that it would not be in her favor to let the emperor down this time.
Since the festival was in full swing, Ray felt it was alright to leave the gathering. The festival was in full swing and the other advisors had already started to up their vigilance.
Even Ray's second-in-command, Rose had her attention up at all times. She would make sure that everything goes right in Ray's absence.
Now that things on one end were handled, it was time for Ray to head back and have a much-needed heart-to-heart with their prisoner.
As per her orders, their captive beta had been taken into the down-section but his room was much better than a standard cell they usually preferred for their prisoners. The room was barely furnished but was clear and free of any moss.
Not to mention, free of any kind of magic or external influence. It was a separate place one could not leave till they were permitted to go out by its creator.
The emperor was the only one who could allow the prisoner to get out of that space.
Or it should have been something like that but Ray found something entirely different once she reached the appointed corridor her prisoner had been kept in.
"Shit" those words reached Ray before she saw their prisoner but her intense training allowed her to jump into action.
The prisoner was somehow out of his assigned room and had taken the liberty to snatch an access card from one of the guards.
How he managed to do all that in the short while he had been there was not something Ray wanted to think about. Her priority was to capture the target and make sure he stays on their hold this time.
The beta male rushed at Ray to capitalize
on her surprised-freeze but was not lucky enough to be able to get past Ray. A small breeze of her magic had been enough to knock the person out cold and it made Ray's vision blur with fright.
Had she somehow managed to kill their prisoner without meaning to? Was he allergic to magic or something?
Not that Ray had ever heard of such a person but you could not roll anything out when dealing with unknown factors.
"Sir, no, Mam, I'm sorry for this trouble. Somehow he managed to knock us all out and escape the room. We were too stunned to be able to stop him" Ray stopped the guard from speaking any further.
Those words did confirm some of the suspicions Ray had but they still did not explain those factors to her. How had this person managed to get out of that room at all?
"Leave it be. I will be taking over your post now so you can all relax" the guard looked relieved at her words and Ray felt the tension drain the guard's frame.
One by one, the guards left the room and left Ray alone with him. Ray decided to add a layer of spells on top of the already existing ones in the room.
She believed in the power of the original spells but it never harmed her to be extra cautious on her end as well. Her captive would be waking up at any time and Ray had a policy of not allowing others to get the best of her that easily.
She had a reputation to maintain after all and this prisoner would not falter her perfect record.
