It was already dusk, when they reached the market of the town that was at the foothill of the hill. She was surprised that they reached a little earlier because Darius knew some more shortcuts saving time.
As they both walked side by side on the streets , Eiana was fascinated by whatever she saw. It felt to her as if it was almost eternity that she had been to the town here. The last time, she came here, she already felt that was great, but now she realized that the night view was more amazing.
She saw people start lighting flaming torches, candles, rush lights, and lanterns in and outside their houses, in the shops, and the fire places. The streets were bustling with men, women and children. The mothers calling their naughty children back home. Some people gathered by some corner to chat and laugh.
The busy ones going back their houses after their works. Eiana felt as of she could watch this for eternity. Everything looked so peaceful to her, the smiles and emotions on the faces of the people looked so genuine. Not like the ones that she is used to see in soirees and balls. Where the upper class, haughty people had nothing to do, but flaunt themselves with fake expressions and evilness in their hearts.
As she felt looking around the market and the streets with utmost interest, Darius kept staring at her as if she was the most beautiful thing and the only thing in the world that is worth his stare and appreciation.
And the more he stared at her and her smile, the more his heart increased it's pace of beating. It was the same and did the exact same thing to him in the past as it does now. Only he knows how much he carved to see it again. Darius didn't notice that he was daze until he felt her jerk and shake his hand.
He blinked and said with a smile, "Yes, milady? Do you want something? " Eiana who was looking at him with a frown, smiled she she heard him and said, " Yes, can we go to that shop? I want to see what they have got... "
Darius moved his eyes to glance at the shop that she was pointing at, as saw that it was a jewelry shop. He smiled and said, "Of course. Let's go."
The two of them pushed the glass door and entered the shop, where the shopkeeper welcomed them politely and asked them what they were looking for. Eiana instantly became busy with looking at the different earnings, rings and necklace that were in the glass shelf. Though, she had grown up looking at and owning very expensive jewels, some that were only one of its kind on earth.
Still she felt a different kind of joy looking at these things here.
Darius looked at her with a a helpless smile and then looked at the shopkeeper with a smile and said, "Show us the best pieces that you have got here. " Hearing this, the shopkeepers eyes lit up and he enthusiastically led them inside to sit more comfortably. It was not everyday that he got such customers.
And then he went behind a wooden wall and came out with some boxes in his hands. Eiana looked at them and said, " Does those boxes have valuable jewelries? " The shopkeeper nodded earnestly and said, "Yes milady. This are some of the jewelries that I had the luck of coming across in all my life. They are extremely valuable ones that I ever had and are quite rare too. "
Eiana raised her brows in surprise and said, " Then I should definitely have a look. " The shopkeeper then proceeded on opening them one by one.
