'Divine beast? You mean, our ancestor could be a divine beast beetle?' I asked eagerly about it. The Queen walk a few steps like she was contemplating for a moment and then halt again to answer me.
'Yes, descendant of a greater race that has magic can inherit some of their ancestors magic.' She said. 'But, there's the possibility too that your parents killed an entity, one that has vast amount of magic.' She finally stated which made me remember those event when golden lights enveloped my figures after killing those birds and that knight.
The Queen sensing that I am pondering about something couldn't help but pique in it. She approached us and her towering figure look down on us. Her arms opened wide above us and we felt a warmth embrace passing by our carapaces. 'Oh my! You! You have magic? You're not even an adult lesser beetle but you already have a concrete core!' The Queen exclaimed as her upper body lowered on us to observe me more.
How did she know? Did that breeze revealed my magic to her? 'Yes? I have. I've only acquired it few days ago.' I honestly answered which made the Queen gasped internally at my statement.
'At a young age, you already have a concrete core which was very rare for lesser being. How did this happen? I want to know the truth!' The Queen conveyed which made me tense. Do I have to tell him that I killed and help kill three entities? Yeah that's it. There's no point on hiding it. I bet the Queen can determine in what ways did I was able to gain magic. She sensed my supposed to be mana core which even I had no idea it existed in me.
'Well, I help my parents killing a bird and killed a crowd mid air alone. I also contributed on killing a knight.' I conveyed nervously. The Queen evinced an amaze expression which is not what I was expecting.
'I see, you must have a really hard life out there. But I don't know if you are aware but, the termite Kingdom has been expanding their territory for a while and now, it reached our borders. As a front line Kingdom and the closest towards the borders where the termites are attacking, we need to do our best to hold them off. The ant empress will not send reinforcement for us as we were just a weak Kingdom. She will probably sent her force on the kingdom behind us. So we need more hands to protect our Kingdom and this forest from the threat of termites.'
The Queen solemnly explained. Ant empress huh? The insects here are truly more intelligent than that of earth. And that's when an idea entered my mind. Without further ado, I step out of my siblings and flames ignited my small body showcasing my magic on the Queen. The Queen was glad and amused seeing my ability. She knows too that my flame would literally work against the termites but it would harm ants too if not used right.
'Young one, you're flame magic is truly magnificent. ' the Queen said and straightening her posture. 'I, Edona, the Queen of the kingdom plead to have you on our force to protect our lands and it's inhabitants. If it's agreeable to you. I would respect if you have any conditions or wishes and will grant it as long as it is within our power.' She said elegantly with sincerity eminently emitting from her telepathic words.
'I shall ask 1 request and 2 conditions before I agree on helping you Queen Edona. ' I replied with dignified tone which is odd for her to hear on a small and young beetle but this Queen is a good-hearted individual and respect our intelligence.
'May I hear of this request and condition young one?'
'Kaizer, my name is Kaizer.' I said which made the Queen to be surprised again.
'Very well, Kaizer?'
'I would request for you to shelter us and share your knowledges to me after the war is over.' I recited the request which was nodded by the Queen Edona. 'And the two conditions are, to let me join the war and preparation and acknowledge my ideas and suggestions.' I cited the two conditions and from the Queens face, a frown can be traced in it.
'War meetings and preparation? I'm sorry but we never had done such thing before.' I was dumbfounded by the Queens remarks.
'Then you've been just sending your underlings in the war locations every time on a war without strategies?!' I exclaimed which made the Queen to feel a little but anxious at my statement.
'I'm afraid yes. It never entered in our mind before to form strategies. I doubt that it's the same from every ant Kingdom and even in the Empress's force.' She replied shamely. Well, that was shocking. 'But I knew about strategic planning. But somehow, the empress don't use it and just depend on the absurd reproductive capability of our species which give us enormous amount of power in numbers.' The Queen added emphasising that the ants are aware of the idea.
'It's somehow understandable, but it can also be our advantage because I doubt that the termites is not the same as you. I would like to suggest a strategic meeting Queen Edona and it would be better to call your officials whose in charge of various parts of your force.' I say but the Queen just gave me a helpless expression.
'Unfortunately, I don't know if you knew it but, the Queens organise and control everything in their Kingdom.'
It seems that some stuff on earth doesn't apply in this world. Well, we are insect after all. If I'm the only one in this world who had knowledge of my previous life, then I'm probably an anomaly in this world.
'I understand. But if you accept my suggestion and the following ideas, we should start so we can prepare early.'
'If it's for our good then I shall accept your suggestion.'
With that, me and Queen Edona starts planning about the incoming battle. While my siblings are playing at the large abdomen of Queen Edona, I settled on her thorax as she toured us on her den. We started first at her, informing me about the characteristics of this termites. She said that lesser termites are long and 3 times bigger than a lesser ant and same applies to the greater termites compared to greater ants. So basically, they beat our forces in size. The next information she told me made me have a grim prediction of the battle outcome. She said that their numbers are estimated to be 3 times larger than ours. But luckily, Greater termites don't leave their main territory which where their Queen resides. Unlike the ants who had empress that rules countless Queens and Kingdom, the termites only had one Queen per territory and is the most powerful of their race. They are not intelligent species and are not intelligent enough to combine force with other termite territories which are very far away from each other.
She also added that our only focus was the termites that encroaching our forest's border. After that, she informed me about the number of her greater ants which is just one hundred plus. She also claimed that her kingdom's force are among the weakest under the ant Empress's territory.
With enough formation for me to come up with a plan, I shared my ideas on her and let her to add some of her insights about it.
We will first create a trap that will use my flame because it is our strongest in our armaments right now. I suggested to make the greater ants dig up a pit bordering the the front where the termites will come. We have to make it deep enough for the termites to take time on climbing on our side. Then, we will make the lesser ants to do the job of filling it with dried leaves. We will also covered the land beyond it so that if the termites are smart enough to avoid the fiery pit, the flames will still spread towards their direction.
This trap will reduce their number greatly and we will make the giant warrior ants to stomp the remains of their battalion. Edona said that the termites can swarm the greater ant and bite it to death that's why we have to diminish their numbers first before deploying our greater warrior ants for clean up. With both of us polishing and rearranging the plan, we finished it and now ready to commence.
