Chapter 41 - Annoying Man

"Please hold this!" a medic asked Yu.

Yu then replaced the medic to press the gauze covering the wound on Alexander's stomach. There were only the two of them in the ambulance accompanying the injured Alexander, and a driver.

"Hey, dude," Yu said to Alexander. "Hold on. Don't die!"

"Jerk!" Alexander snorted. "That's the same as you swearing me to die."

Yu just smiled holding back his laughter. In critical times like now, Alexander can still joke, even though he is hurting.

"Don't worry," said the medic. "Looks like your friend will still have a long life to come."

"Well, you are right," Yu chuckled as did Alexander himself. "He's ridiculous and annoying!"

A luxury wheelless stopped in front of the door of a hospital, then the figure of Alina and a man about 35 years old got out of the vehicle.

Alina stepped hastily accompanied by the man who was none other than her fiancé.

"You shouldn't have to worry about this, Alina."

Alina snorted at her fiancé's words.

"You know, you guys can find other volunteers."

"It's easy for you to say," said Alina. "If you didn't want to come, didn't I tell you to stay in your luxurious house?"

"Hey, come on!" the man chuckled. "Don't be so rude to me."

"Can you just shut up?"

"Alright, alright…"

When she arrived at the hallway that led to the operating room, Alina could breathe a little relieved because she found Yu who was sitting alone on a bench on the right side of the operating room door in good condition. Above the door, there was a long rectangular lamp that was glowing red, a sign that an operation was taking place in the room behind the door.

"Yu!"

Yu was a little surprised. "Alina?"

"What happened?"

"Ermm…" Yu's gaze fell on the man who was accompanying Alina.

"Hey," said the man with such an arrogant attitude. "I'm Alina's fiancé. And you must be the volunteer, right?"

Yu nodded doubtfully. "Yu, my name is Yu."

"It doesn't matter to me," the man mumbled with a smirk at the corner of his lips.

Alina glared at her fiancé. "Could you not make me even more upset?"

The man smiled as he raised his hands to shoulder height.

"Why are you so careless?" Alina asked Yu.

"I'm so sorry," Yu could only lower his head. "But, Alex…" Yu glanced at the operating room door.

"You just made me worry. Mr. Akimura is also very worried about you, you know that, huh?" said Alina. "Wouldn't you can enjoy your days ordinarily, like other men?"

Yu hesitated to answer that. Besides, he felt that Alina's annoyance had probably been at home. The best guess he had, must have been due to the girl's fiancé.

Damn! What a perfect night! Yu screamed in his heart.

Not long after, the light above the door finally turned green, a sign that whatever the doctors were doing in the room was over.

The door opened, a doctor came out first, then two others followed, and a gurney on which Alexander lay. The gurney was pushed by two nurses.

The surgeon who led the operation knew Alina well enough that he immediately approached the girl.

"Doctor Alina?"

"Hi, Doc," said Alina. "How is it going? Did the operation go well?"

Alina glanced at Alexander who was still unconscious due to the effects of the anesthesia given to him before the operation.

Yu also wanted to know the results of the operation.

"Praise to God," said the doctor. "All goes well. So, these are your acquaintances?"

"Yeah, kind of," said Alina. "They both work at the Akimura facility. He," Alina pointed at Alexander. "Is a mechanical technician. And he," she pointed at Yu. "A volunteer who will fly towards the Black Eye."

"Aah ... so that how it is, huh?" the doctor nodded. "You don't have to worry," he said. "The stab wound didn't hit any important organ."

"Thank God," said Alina.

Yu was also quite happy to hear the news from the doctor. That means Alexander's life will not be in danger.

And after that, the doctors and nurses took Alexander to the treatment room while Alina and her fiancé, and Yu headed to the reception room at the front.

"Could you just wait for me in the wheelless?" Alina asked her fiancé when they had finished all the administration for Alexander's care.

"Alright," the man glanced at Yu with a condescending look, and after that, he walked away from Alina and Yu. "Troublesome!" he muttered.

Alina took a deep breath. At the very least, she felt ashamed of her fiancé's attitude. Even more so towards Yu, although Alina was quite confused. I don't know why I can feel differently about this man? Alina thought about Yu.

"I'm sorry about him," Alina said.

"No," Yu tried to smile. "I'm used to that kind of thing."

"Listen, Yu," and again the girl turned more serious. "Your existence is very important to Akimura Tech, you know that right?"

"I'm really sorry," Yu lowered his head. "But, what has happened is not what you think, Alina."

"I don't want to hear any excuses."

"Alina," Yu tried to look at the beautiful face that looked tired in front of him. "I can swear by any name. I just happened to be passing by that road after coming back from calming down by the artificial lake I told you about before."

Alina narrowed her eyes, her hands folded under her large breasts.

"Really, believe me," said Yu. "Who would have thought that there was a commotion in there, and I was caught in the middle of the crowd. I met Alex, and he led me down the lane back to the facility building."

"How did you two get into a fight? This makes no sense to me!"

"Alina, I'm telling the truth," Yu said. "One of the street thugs was hiding in the alley we were passing. And, and the fight broke out."

"You know…" Alina took a deep breath. A hint of calm now appeared on her face. "I thought that you were the one who got stabbed, and that means all the plans that Akimura Tech has put together will be in vain. Had to start over from scratch. You know how much it costs to do all this?"

"I know, and I'm sorry for making you worry."

"Although I'm quite relieved to see the reality, that doesn't mean I'm happy with Alexander's injury."

"I know…"
