Chereads / Help!: I Think My System Is Trying To Kill Me! / Chapter 17 - Black Wolf Gathering

Chapter 17 - Black Wolf Gathering

Some hugged their children, others their wives and some stood as still as rocks with humble stances.

… Their leader was glowing brightly.

Everyone crowded at the top of the hill, waiting patiently for their leader to accept his inheritance.

The scroll that Ivo and Titus saw had long vanished before the other got there.

Now, it was Wolfram who was glowing with his back facing them.

-Silence-

Only the sounds of nature could be heard at this moment.

And soon, they saw the glow on their Leader's body begin to fade until he regained his usual complexion.

Wolfram opened his eyes and slowly turned around to face the crowd.

Thanks to the conversations he overheard, Wolfram found the perfect excuse to use.

"Leader! How are you?"

"Are you okay, leader?"

"Wolf boy, tell your sister if you're hurt!"

Many showed concern, letting out all the anxiousness in their hearts.

They surrounded him without delay with worry and curiosity.

"Alright, everyone, gave our leader some space. I'm sure he has things to tell us too." Titus bellowed.

Though he still spoke calmly as he usually did, everyone could tell that he was far more inquisitive than them.

"The son!" Ivo hastily took his place beside Wolfram.

He will never leave Wolfram's side again!... What if something tragic happens instead?

Wolfram didn't know it, but for the next few days, there would always be a person around him, not giving him a single second of privacy.

...

Wolfram stared at the gathering of 50 with disguised warmth.

When such a thing happened, they worried about his life first.

"Everyone, I'm alright. Your leader is fine. Rather, I have good news to tell you all!"

Good news?

Of course, good news!

Everyone wore smiles on their faces, subconsciously leaving forward in anticipation.

Though they guessed what could've happened, it didn't stop them from having a belly full of butterflies.

"Yes, Good news!" Wolfram continued.

"I, your leader, have received the will of a being far more powerful than any Sky Hailer!"

Boom!

Wolfram's words made them tremble.

More powerful than any Sky Hailer?

'Are you sure?'

Forgive them for their limited knowledge, but what sort of person, rank, or titled individual can be above a Sky Hailer?

Wolfram's words didn't just end there.

"I, your leader, have inherited a Divine will. With this will, I will not only grow stronger... but you too will be allowed to grow alongside myself."

What? They too can enjoy such a godly thing?

How was that even possible?

Many felt that their hearing should be wrong.

They didn't think they were worthy of such.

Even Titus doubted this.

But Wolfram's following ones once again resounded in their ears.

"Have no doubt. One of the many skills I inherited is that of acceptance and loyalty. Once a person passes these tests, they will enjoy everything I enjoy!"

Just as Wolfram finished speaking, a golden block about 5 feet tall appeared beside Wolfram.

Boom!

The abrupt block shot out of the ground, shaking everyone's core.

So majestic! So radiant!

Tremble. Tremble~.

Everyone already felt dizzy from what they saw.

Mommy... What a heavenly display of power.

[Black Wolf Gathering's Center.]

Those were the words displayed on the golden stone.

Wolfram had already named his gathering as .

The Black soil accompanied by part of his name, Wolfram, did have a nice ring to it.

Don't bite him for choosing such a simple name.

The system denied all the flashy ones he tried, saying it would be ashamed to have its host choose such names?

Maybe he would eventually change its name again once he changed its status from a gathering to a village.

But for now, this was the best he could do.

And he had no qualms about it.

.

It was inevitable that Wolfram's words had caused a stir in many hearts.

They looked back and forth between the stone and Wolfram.

Their leader had said he got a skill called Loyalty & Acceptance. But what did he mean?

"Everyone, it's simple. In the future, our little gathering will grow. And no matter who comes to join us later, we need to ensure their loyalty remains with us. This stone is a representation of this."

Everyone nodded in understanding.

Yes!

They still had a sneaky enemy like Torr on their backs. So who knew that those that come here for settlement would one day leak their information.

After seeing how grand the outside was, they realized that they were so small, and even a nearby village could attack their small gathering and kill them all.

So they needed more numbers and strength to protect themselves.

Many listened to Wolfram, agreeing to this manner.

As expected of their leader

Even after receiving such a will, he still thought of their needs.

For sure, Wolfram's method won't stop all schemes, but it would be able to decrease the number.

"Those who prove themselves will get the gift. And even while having the gift, if they betray or go against the laws and rules, their gifts will disappear."

Wonderful!

Titus and many were once again pleased.

In this way, only those who deserve the mysterious gift will have them.

They didn't know what this gift was about.

But since it was mighty, then for safety reasons, not just anyone should receive it.

In a nutshell, Wolfram made them understand several basic concepts and reasons behind the Golden block.

.

Gesturing with his hands, he bellowed them to step forward.

"Everyone, close your hearts, focus, and repeat the words that flash in your minds."

Flashing words?

(?^?)

Everyone did as told, though they were still lost.

But soon, it all made sense.

Whoosh!

Several majestic words appeared before their minds.

[Do you swear to be loyal to Black Wolf Gathering?]

[Do you swear never to scheme against other members?]

These were the only 2 rules.

They seemed simple... but held far more power than one might think.

And after they swore truthfully, a loud ring pierced their minds.

Ding!

[Black Wolf Settlement System activated!]
