Secretly swallowing hard, Elliot replied, "I did, master."

"Good, Elliot. You see? No one likes a man who can't keep his word. Did I ask you to promise me that the job will get done?"

"No." But you had me at swordpoint. Elliot thought. 

Placing his hand on Elliot's shoulder, Jamison stared deeply at the man who was slowly getting to his knees.

"You are my longest-serving subordinate and my friend Elliot. One I dare say expect the world from. But now, you bring sad news one after another." 

"Every time, you fail me with constant disappointments here and there... over the past weeks there isn't any bit of significant good news you've brought over."

"Where are the people who stole my Lagoon slaves and made a mockery of my name? You have no results or substantial clues to show."
