A few people with unwashed faces went about their day.
Some had bundles of twigs and wood well balanced on their heads, others carried wooden drums of water carved out of a tree on their heads, while others had sacs of gathered goods like herbs, fruits, and other goods over their shoulders.
Every family gathered goods for their private use. But there were some people officially appointed as gatherers to get herbs for the village healer to dry, grind into powder or store fresh for emergencies.
Believe it or not, emergencies happen almost every week. Hunting and coming back with deep bite marks, meeting enemy villagers straying closer to their territory, and so on.
Injuries during training were also common.
The villagers in almost all villages collectively gathered these essentials for public use.
