Chereads / My Dad Is An Immortal Virgin / Chapter 19 - Amanda and Dante

Chapter 19 - Amanda and Dante

Amanda remained rooted, staring at Dante with a bewildered and frightened expression. Cursing the Heavens is no small thing, much less saying that you are its Grandfather. She waited for Dante to be smitten, but nothing happened even after dozens of seconds.

She was unable to calm herself down as it seemed that what Dante was saying might actually be the truth and this realization terrified her!

'Oh Heavens, why did you let this man become an Immortal?! I can't think of anybody worse to become an Immortal than this man in front of me!'

Amanda screams internally, but then she felt what seemed like illusory tears that seemed to sympathize with her thoughts.

'Fuck! This man is bad enough to even make the Heavens cry! No no no, what if he destroys the entire Immortal Realm out of boredom? Wait… I-I remember something happened a few years ago where every male froze and after reading the reports they said that they felt like they were about to get erased from the timeline… Don't tell me…'

"D-Dante, did something happen around 20 years ago? Something that affected a lot of men?"

Amanda asked with a meek voice hoping that she was wrong, but her gut was telling her that this psychopath was the reason for what happened and that only made her feel worse.

"Huh? 20 years ago? Men… Oh! Little Ava said she wanted to get married to a guy, settle down with him, have babies, and leave me…"

Dante's face started to distort just thinking about that scene of Little Ava telling her she no longer loved him and wanted to leave him for some other man… He then continued, but his voice became hoarse and darker…

"Naturally, I can't let that happen so I was almost forced to erase anything related to men, whether it be in the past, present, future, or even in other Universes. No one can take my daughter from me!! No OnE!!"

The more Dante thought about it the more his face twisted into a rage!

Amanda went aghast listening to Dante tell her what happened. She looked at his barely newborn-looking daughter and knew this fucking maniac was probably just lost in his over-imagination and most likely almost did it on impulse!

'FUCK! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I need to do something about this fucking psycho!'

"I-I see. But I don't think you need to worry about Little Ava doing something like that. How can she like other men better than her own father? You must be imagining things."

Amanda tried to calm down Dante and somehow just those empty words seemed to work. Really, this guy is too fucking unpredictable…

"Hmmm… You're right. How can someone possibly be better than me! Right, Little Ava?"

All he received was a curious look from Little Ava.

"A-Anyways, why are you here, Dante? Fufu~ Don't tell me you came here just to see me? You're going to make an old woman like me blush~"

Seeing things return to normal, Amanda tried to go back to her usual playful self.

"I won't lie, I do enjoy petting your fluffy and soft tails, but now I came here so my daughter can socialize! I gave Little Ava three choices and she chose foxes as the first species she wants to socialize with. Also, your race is probably the best race for Little Ava to socialize with."

"Oh? Interesting. Why do you say that? Why didn't you go straight to the humans? Aren't you human?"

Amanda asked curiously.

Dante's expression changed into one of disdain.

"We are not human. We've evolved into something better, something perfect. Plus… well… Little Ava would probably kill all of the baby humans upon meeting them due to her overwhelming strength. She may not look it, but due to inheriting my bloodline she has the power of someone in the Qi Condensation Realm (4th Realm)."

[A/N: Her power has evolved a bit due to her getting older.]

"What?! Really?! She's that powerful just from your bloodline alone without any cultivation? I've never heard of something so outrageous!"

The two of them continued to talk and banter with each other like old friends. Both Amanda and Dante have a bit of a strange relationship as usually, Dante would not let someone talk to him in the way that Amanda talks to him, but it's mainly because he can feel that Amanda is a genuinely good person.

Even though it's hard for them to be considered friends or even acquaintances, the two of them can feel a certain type of bond between each other. This is not a bond like lovers, friends, or family would have, but more like a bond that like-minded people would have.

Both of them are very honest, not only with themselves but with others as well. Dante may be a crazy murderous narcissistic psychopath, but he has 100% confidence in himself and anything that he says he believes with all of his heart, whether what he believes is actually true or not is left up for debate…

Whenever Dante says something to someone, he says it without any hint of falsehood and if he doesn't want to say something then he'll tell you why straight to your face.

Amanda, although a bit different in terms of personality, is also someone who is extremely honest. Despite her playful nature and mastery of illusions, she herself is not someone who hides her real self. The people she hates the most are liars as the Fox Clan has been betrayed too many times over the course of history by people and Clans they thought were their allies but they ended up betraying them in the end.

So even though she may sound a bit rude when talking to Dante, that's just how her personality is. She's not saying it to be rude or anything, but merely because she can't hold herself back and just says what's on her mind.

Although she won't lie, it's a bit out of fear as well. If she acts fake in front of him and tries to use him for her own benefit, she knows that the Fox Clan will soon go extinct. He's eradicated families and clans for a lot less after all…

The two of them kept talking until Dante finally asked a question that has been bugging him and although he can find out the answer himself he wants to hear it from her.

"I've been meaning to ask, but aren't you curious as to how I broke through the barrier and ascended into Immortality? Not just that, but if I wanted I could even make you an Immortal with no repercussions. Though you still wouldn't even be close to as powerful as me."

Amanda was stunned after hearing Dante's question and she didn't really know what to say at first. It took her a few minutes of thinking about it to come up with a reasonable answer.

"I'm not really sure what to think of it. My goal has never been to become an Immortal. I only want my Fox Clan to stay alive and well. Sure, I'm curious how you did it. Who wouldn't be? Many people have tried to do what you did, but all of them ultimately failed. As for actually becoming an Immortal? I honestly have no idea what I would even do if I became one. It sounds lonely and boring. I sure as hell won't keep being the Clan Leader for all eternity and whoever I love will eventually die including my children while I remain the same. Sure I would live forever and gain unimaginable power, but I wouldn't know what to do with it. BUT! If I could look this young and sexy for a few years longer, then go ahead and help me ascend! Fufu~"

Amanda tried to say all that as honestly and as seriously as possible, but in reality, she was sweating buckets. No, she wasn't the only one sweating, she woke up all of her ancestors from the underworld and was forcing them to sweat with her as well!

Dante just stared deeply at her and was considering many things. Naturally, he wasn't going to just turn her into an Immortal on the spot. That would be stupid! Although she's probably the person he hates the least in this world, he wouldn't have any problem killing her either. It would just be a bit of a bummer to lose someone he didn't hate. That's it.

He could tell that she was being sincere in her answer and was even reading her mind to make sure she wasn't lying. And she wasn't. Everything she said was the truth, even the last part which was a bit funny.

She clearly knew that her answer determined whether she lived or died, but still chose to say that. Even when she said that he can go ahead and do it, Dante didn't detect any traces of jealousy or greed in her thoughts. It was more like she said it as an afterthought that would be fine if it happened, but she's not expecting anything.

"Interesting. Well, whatever. Let's go introduce Little Ava to the fox cubs!"
