"So, are you gonna tell me why you made me sneak you out? Oh, wait! Don't tell me! You're trying to flee this place, aren't you? But you're not gonna make it that far. I mean, we are talking about the imperial family here. They're gonna catch up to you no matter what." Rawlin sighed as I looked around to check if anyone was around.
Surprisingly enough, there was little to no security around my room. I didn't know the reason behind it, especially since Loretta made my wedding sound like a big deal.
"Nah, nah! You're planning to take me with you on this escapade, aren't you? I'm sorry, but I have no intention of leaving this place. I mean, I need to see this story unfold! And being a knight is the best way for me to do that. So, please don't take away the one piece of fun in this world for me! Like, what am I supposed to do if I leave with you? This place doesn't have phones and the novels that get published here don't have that fun sort of element that the books on Earth had. I have no idea how transmigrated people survive in another world…" He shrugged as he said that.
"Pipe down, will ya? I don't wanna alert everyone around here. And it's not like I'm gonna try escaping from here because I know for a fact that it would be impossible for us to do that. Also, even if I'm gonna try it, I won't be doing that with you." I spoke.
It seemed like Rawlin's ego couldn't take what I said. "What do you mean you won't do it with me? Do you think that less of me? Do you think I'm not trustworthy?" He asked, looking clearly frustrated.
"No, it's because you would die the moment they catch up to us. I mean, don't you get the insane risk that you are taking right now? I mean, you could die just for letting me escape the chamber as well, you know?" I replied.
That was the moment when he realized the sort of mistake he made. "Oh, no!" He mumbled.
"Yea, you didn't think it through when you let me out like that, huh?" I chuckled. "Well, there's nothing we can do right now other than go straight ahead." I spoke.
"No, no! I can still take you back and no one would notice. I mean, look at the people around. There's literally no one surveilling around your room. So, it is possible." Rawlin spoke.
"Hmm, don't you think that the reason why there are no people around is because they might be inside looking for me?" I asked.
I mean, I was just placing that idea in his mind so that he wouldn't strand me alone right in the middle of everything. Like, I wasn't kidding about the fact that they would kill him the moment we get out of the palace, but I don't think they would do something like that as long as we are inside the premises of this place.
Although it seemed like my words had a profound impact on his mind. He looked terrified as he looked around. "Fuck… I never should have listened to you!" He cried.
"Wow, you are quick to turn your back, huh?" I spoke.
"Don't blame me for that! Here I am, with people looking to kill me because I let a princess, who doesn't reveal her plan, out of her room. Of course, I'd turn my back!" He sounded quite frustrated as he said that.
"Umm, I guess you have the right to get a little bit frustrated. But trust me when I say this… I have a plan and I need your help on this plan of mine." I had a smile on my face as I said that. Although, it seemed as if the smile wasn't a nice one, since Rawlin looked all worried.

"Wait a minute! Why are we here now? I don't get it. It's like the prey going right into the hands of the predator." Rawlin spoke.
I get his confusion though. We were hiding near the altar where I'm supposedly gonna get married. And it seemed as if the news of me escaping from the room had spread around as well, because the groom, who was an old-looking Baron by the way, was sweating beads as he stood before the priest. Now I know why the maids said the things they said. Alexandra definitely deserved a better looking guy.
Anyhow, enjoying the commotion was not the reason why I sneaked in here with Rawlin. Well, it wasn't the primary goal to say the very least.
"Say, Rawlin… Who's the most influential person in this crowd?" I asked.
"Hmm, influential huh? How influential does this person have to be?" He asked back.
"Let me think. At least as influential as that old ass Baron whatever his name is." I spoke.
"As influential as the Baron, huh… I see about ten people who are as influential, if not more than Baron Lothair." He replied.
"I see. Now, show me the young guns." I spoke.
"Huh?"
"I said, show me the young and the influential. Preferably a person around my age. Because for this plan to succeed, this person has to be in that age group and quite a beauty, if you ask me." I smiled as I said that.
"I still don't know what you're planning to do, you know?" Rawlin sighed. It wasn't a sigh of frustration, but a sigh of sadness. I mean, he was involved in the entirety of my plan and yet he didn't know anything about what I was planning. I get why he is kinda sad.
"Look, it isn't like I was planning to keep this a secret from you. Just tell me how many people fit my bill and I'll tell you all about the plan." I promised.
Rawlin sighed yet again. "Fine! Whatever… I don't care. And as for the people fitting your bill, I can see exactly two people out there." He replied.
