Chapter 4 - Year 1700 (Part 4)

"How many times have I told you never to approach my daughter because I will not hesitate to kill you!" The Rajah let out a loud yell and kicked the young man in the stomach. He wasn't through yet, and he managed to punch him in the face and chest. Leticia continued to scream because of what her father was doing to Sullivan throughout those moments, but the girl stayed wrapped in her mother's arms, preventing her from reaching the young man.

The Rajah merely proceeded to beat the young guy Sullivan, who was already quite weak due to the Rajah's burdens.

Eulogio, who was standing behind his father and smiling at the time, could not escape Leticia's gaze; possibly it was he who complained to his father about Sullivan's presence. As a result of her rage at the young man, she couldn't help but tighten her fists.

"I will forgive you now, just don't disturb Leticia therefore I'll kill you if you defy me." After pushing Sullivan hard over muddy ground, Rajah Benecio spoke loudly, the young guy appeared to be chasing his breath due to his excessive weakness.

"M-My love f-for your d-daughter is g-genuine; I've n-never d-desired a-anything o-other than her s-sake and h-happiness. J-just... just a-allow me to l-love her." Sullivan was weak and had difficulty speaking, but that didn't stop him from saying it, since when he said it, Rajah Benecio quickly glanced at him, a look of sorrow on his face due to the continual sobbing of Leticia.

Meanwhile, Eulogio's jaw clenched excessively at that point, as he knew Rajah Benecio showed empathy for his half-brother Sullivan, which he didn't like.

"I-I c-come from a p-poor b-background, but t-that is not an e-excuse for me to h-hurt and d-deceive on Leticia; I g-genuinely l-love her and I k-know that no o-one can m-match that." Even though the young man was weak, it was not a barrier for him to fight for the girl and his love for her, he stated again, causing the girl to stop sobbing and he gazed at him strongly.

Later, owing to apprehensions that the Rajah might alter his mind and consent to the couple's relationship. Eulogio quickly drew the revolver from behind him and directed it towards his brother's chest, where he shot Sullivan without hesitation.

"Sullivan!" Leticia screamed and dashed over to Sullivan, who was now laying on the ground. He placed the young man's head on his leg and instantly caressed his cheek to wake him up because the young man's eyes appeared to close at that time.

"Don't l-leave me, p-please!" Despite the young man's pitiful state, the lady continued to sob as she spoke to him.

"Won't you give me more tulips? R-Right?" Even though there was a lot of blood gushing out of the young man's body and he was having difficulty breathing, Sullivan smiled as he touched Leticia's face.

"Didn't I m-mention t-that t-tulips a-also represent e-eternal l-love? T-The love that w-will e-endure f-for an l-lifetime and i-into t-the n-next." Even though he was having trouble speaking, the young guy managed to finish what he wanted to say to the girl.

Leticia couldn't stop crying as she listened to what the young guy she adored had to say.

"I-I w-will w-wait f-for y-you, L-Leticia." That was the last thing that came out of the young man's mouth before he closed his eyes, and it was this that made Leticia cry out again, this time full of resentment.

End...

A few months later...

"Despite the fact that we are both married, you still have those tulips next to your bed." Eulogio, Leticia's husband, was calm yet irritated. They've just been married for a few weeks, and since Sullivan's death, Leticia has always been spotted carrying those flowers, which irritates him.

"These flowers, in fact, are more valuable than you, they make me so happy." Eulogio's fists clenched in response to the girl's scathing comment.

"Because that's what my useless brother has for you. In fact, I can provide you with flowers which are both more precious and more exquisite than any of those." While delivering such remarks, the arrogance in his voice can be heard in the thinking that he can replace those flowers with something more beautiful without realizing that it is essential to the girl because it was presented to her by Sullivan.

"It's not strange that if you are talking about a meaningless and worthless object, you're describing yourself. You can't just blame Sullivan for your idiocy since he's now at peace, right? Didn't you kill him?" caustic, but with Leticia's accurate explanation of why Eulogio, the young man, can no longer control his rage

The young guy hit Leticia and even managed to grab her long hair in his wrath.

"You are erroneous if you believe that you and Sullivan will be together for the next several lifetimes like the meaning of these stupid flowers." Because of their short lifespan, these flowers wilted, which is how they were harmed when Eulogio grabbed and tugged them tightly. The woman couldn't stop Eulogio from destroying the tulip flower any longer.

"I will do everything I can, as well as I swear that you and Sullivan will never be together again in your next lives." As he stated those words, Eulogio's voice was rife with rage.

"Why and how are you going to make sure we don't cross paths again? Is it because you have a peculiar power like your mother Lakambini Isabella? Who can speak a word, and it will be fulfilled? She is the one who cursed Sullivan's mother to death because Rajah Tavio loved her so much? Am I right? You are both avaricious and self-centered!" Leticia screamed again, prompting Eulogio to slap his hands on her, this time it is harder, leading her to kneel on the floor of their room.

Eulogio was able to calm down and leave their room as a result of Leticia's distress. Leticia was left alone, sobbing uncontrollably and clutching the tulip blooms that had been scattered.

She concluded that she had only been married for a week, that Eulogio had mistreated her, that she did not love him, and that she would never be able to love him, so she went out and found a rope, which she put around her neck.

She knew she'd never been happy again since the only man who understood her and loved her despite her flaws was no longer alive. When she was certain she was ready to end her life, she closed her eyes and leaped into the chair she was sitting on, where the rope eventually strangled her neck.

However, she was able to speak before she took her own life.

"Here I am, Sullivan."
