Chapter 6 - She Descends from Above

In a place far away from where Titania was, shrouded with a thick fog was the Entity observing him. The Entity watched with amusement and intrigue as they saw Titania, or really what Titania was. The Entity has never seen an individual like him.

The Entity has existed for a long time and has seen many civilizations rise and fall. There had been many 'heroes' of different eras and many 'villains' and the entity had seen their fights rock the earth down to its very core. After seeing these fights the Entity would bestow them a 'blessing' that would help them with their journey, eventually they as the sands of time move these types of people were all the same. There were one's who fought with fists, those with their minds, inventions, magic and so on. The entity eventually got bored of seeing the same thing repeating and stopped giving 'blessings'.

These blessings were any actually blessings as though from a god or deity but rather the Entity would give them a fraction of their power to help nurture them. Naturally the Entity wouldn't give its energy for free but would demand a form of exchange, sacrifices it can be considered. The Entity would call upon, rarely would others call upon the Entity, and would offer them help in exchange for sacrifices, such as offering it animals, certain rocks, people, and so on. Through this the Entity would end up with more energy or strength than it had started with all while helping the worshipper.

When the Entity heard the prayer from Titania it was surprised. It had been many years since anyone had prayed for it and out of curiosity it conjured mirror with an image of Titania in its reflection. When the Entity saw Titania it felt that this was something different about this person, something off. It's curiosity was peaked and with a wave of it's hand it scanned Titania. It was surprised with what it saw, something unique.

The Entity now had an undesirable need to know more, from the scan it pinged that it was both human and something else. The Entity decided to broaden the scope that it was using to see where Titania was.

The Entity saw that Titania saw that he was being held in a facility was dozens of researchers and guards in a dense forest with the only signs of life being the animals and insects that lived in there. While it knew where Titania was it gained no information about him, stoking the fire of curiosity in its mind. In this moment, the Entity gave Titania the highest blessing it had ever gave to a person. This drained energy from the Entity but after having so many sacrifices offered to it, it was a mere drop in the ocean.

The Entity then saw Titania get whisked away by the researchers into a lab, which it recognized as a diagnostic room it grew excited. The Entity smiled to itself and rubbed its hand together, "To think I would have to spend years to learn what that thing is when I got researchers doing it for me!" The Entity said to itself as it had the work cut out for itself. All the Entity had to do now was wait for them to finish with their tests and it will peek at the results.

And so it did, it waited patiently while observing the diagnose process. It saw several researchers whisper and talk to each other, none of which was related to Titania. While it was watching it made the decision to make an appearance, the diagnose process didn't provide enough information for the Entity to be pleased with. After it was process was done with and saw all the researchers leave and go to sleep in their headquarters, it decided to appear.

With the mirror that it was using observe Titania with the Entity changed the mirrors perspective to a bathroom in the facility as it was late at night and it couldn't afford to be caught. When it got the perspective right the Entity lightly tapped on the mirror and the mirror trembled, becoming an almost fluid like state and the entity walked through it and appeared on the other side of the mirror in the bathroom of the research facility.

The Entity looked around the bathroom and saw a mirror and looked at the reflection, it saw was a cloud of green energy, seeming as though a living fog. 'I can't go around like this, I could hide myself but that is boring,' The Entity thought to itself. After a moment of debate it soon created itself its disguise. The fog gathered together and created a tall woman, who had tan skin that complemented her nicely, and had hair just above her shoulders, while also creating the same lab coats used in the lab. The Entity inspected her body in the mirror and seemed pleased with what it made.

"I out did myself," She said out loud to herself, "And now to get a keycard that they use." She walked out of the bathroom while adjusting her lab coat and wandered the halls of the facility. She looked around the facility until she saw another researcher.

The Entity walked up to the researcher and bumped into him on purpose, "Oh, excuse me," she said apologetically, "I am new here, as I got transferred here and I lost my keycard, can you help me?" The researcher looked at her and a smile formed on his face that all females know all too well. The researcher shook his head repeatedly and guided her through the halls into a room that had a camera and a printer for ID cards.

The Entity already knew what to do and the researcher seemed very eager and took pictures for the ID, more than what was needed. When the keycard was printed the Entity scurried away and began to wander the halls again.

'I hate men like that, filthy,' She thought to herself as she left in a hurry away from him. She conjured the layout of the facility, with every room labeled. She saw that she was very close to room where she needed to go.

"Onward to the storage room," She said to herself as she walked down the halls with the map at hand.

As The Entity waltzed sown the halls of the facility she stared at the ID card that was made for her. While she was disgusted with the man that made it for her, she did have to admit that the researcher got her on her good side.

She put the ID away in one of her lab coat pockets and conjured a map of the facility. She scoured the map until she found the room that she was looking for, the information storage room. She saw that she wasn't far from it, as the room was only a few more twist and turns, and began her walk.

On the way there she glanced at through a window and saw the dark forest that surrounded the facility. The forest seemed tranquil and quiet, at peace in some way but she knew that this was false. That in the forest such things didn't exist, in there was a constant fight for survival. She returned her focus to walking down the halls.

After some time she found the door to the information storage room. It looked the same as every other door in the facility, plain with no designs and a small pad to scan keycards. The Entity took out her keycard and held it to the scanner.

"This better not be a goddamn restricted door that only allows certain people in," She said to herself. Soon after the scanner shown a pale green color.

The Entity wiped the sweat off of her eyebrow and reached the door. However, someone opened it on the other side.

'Shit shit,' She thought to herself as a bunch of thought went through her head. Was there a schedule that allowed people to be here? Did they have stations? Such thoughts went through her head.

When the door opened the Entity saw who it was she raised her eyebrows is surprise. It was head researcher Beliz!

They looked eyes for a moment and stared at each other in silence. Beliz was the first to speak and asked her a question, "Who are you?"

The Entity panicked for a moment and blurted out a name that came first to her head, "My name is Leonor," The Entity said with as much confidence as she could muster in this situation. She stared nervous into Beliz eyes nervously and began to notice something off about them.

Beliz eyes seemed to be sunken into his skull. He had heavy bags that where starting to turn purple. The area around his eye seemed to be red and blemished. His eyes were bloodshot.

Beliz muttered something under his breath and then left Leonor, his steps echoing down the hallway. She let out a sigh of relief and head into the storage room.

The storage room was filled filing cabinets and with computer terminals that lined the walls. The room was brightly lit, so much so that she couldn't see her own shadow.

She contemplated herself which way she wanted to go, read physical copies or go on the computer. She eventually chose the computer as it would take less time to look for what she wanted.

In the room there was one computer that was out and she walked up to it an activated it. After letting to computer do its thing of warming up she immediately began to search about Titania and what made him so unique. She typed in the keyword 'Subject zero' as that was what she heard them call him. She immediately gotten files related to it, but there seems to be very few. All the files were numbered. She clicked on the first one and started reading

Known Information of the 'Infection'

The organism known as the 'infection' is a form of bacteria that forms with a parasitic bond with the host's cells. It was first founded by a team of researchers dispatched to the site where it was first diagnosed in [REDACTED]. Their original goal was to study it, then treat all the people who had it in their system and collect samples of it for further study. People that had it in their system suffered from the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, trouble eating, blisters covering the whole body, involuntary movement of limbs, and sweating.

What made this organism stand out amongst the rest was that regardless of treatment method, antibiotics, radiation therapy, and even [REDACTED], the organism was still found in the host's body. This naturally sparked interest not only in the research department but also in the military. The military saw the potential for a new bioweapon for themselves as the 'Infection' is deadly by itself and could be further modified.

Under orders from higher ups, specifically Chancellor [REDACTED], they were ordered to stop treatment of the people that had it in their systems and were only allowed to collect samples and observe.

After some time all the people in [REDACTED] had the organism in their system. Later during the research mission nearly all of the people that had it were dead, nearly all. There was one survivor that was able to endure the infection. The researchers took the survivor in and began testing and found out several things. The subject's cells have bonded in some way with the infection, leading to multiple 'enhancements' to the survivor's body. These 'enhancements' were improved physical strength, higher endurance, and faster speed. However this was not without flaw, under many observations both visual and cellular, it appears that the survivor cells' didn't bond perfectly, actually seemed very poorly. This was the researcher's hypothesis from the other observations made about the survivor. In the survivor's body were multiple tumors growing at different paces, vomiting any food given, and blood poured out of any blister agitated. The survivor died shortly being taken in so no more further observations could be made by now. All the bodies were collected and every sample of the 'infection' was sent to [REDACTED].

At research facility number: [REDACTED], name: [REDACTED] the 'Infection' is being studied for further research. So far they have been able to find a suitable host that has been able to properly adapt to the 'Infection'. Further research is required to see if it is possible to replicate it to the ordinary solider.

"Well I can guess where everything was sent," Leonor said to herself.

Now her curiosity was peaked once again and thought about staying around the facility a little bit longer.

Leonor log out of the computer and got out of the chair she was sitting in. As she went out of the room she let out a deep breathe from her chest. She felt her shoulders relax and a gentle smile appeared on her face, her curiosity was satiated for now.

She walked down the halls of the lab and headed towards the living quarters where all of the researchers slept. She knew that her current identity would last too long. Besides how would she explain it? Hello my name is Leonor, I work here now? Impossible, at least in her mind that how it worked.

She needed to assume someone else's identity, temporarily. When she reached the living quarters she went through each of the scientist lodgings, making snide remarks as she passed each room.

"My god I pity whoever marries this man," Leonor said under her breathe as she passed by researcher that preferred to sleep naked.

After passing by a couple more rooms, she found someone that met her criteria. A complete nobody. She looked through the researchers room, it was of spartan design, and found them asleep on the bed. It was a woman that looked neither young nor old and had some form of beauty. Leonor looked down on the woman and smile.

She then turned into the same green fog as when she first appeared and surrounded the woman. The fog then seeped into every pore of the woman's body, the woman glowed a faint green that soon faded right after. The Entity possessed the woman.

Leonor, still laying on the bed, stretched out her body until it began to violent shake like she was having a seizer. She then let out a deep sigh and shifted around in her new bed until she got comfortable, then soon felled asleep.
