Instead of focusing on returning to Lysander, Rowan focused on Ozul, hoping it would be easier to move to the being who was connected to the liminal space even though he wasn't currently in it.
He wasn't disappointed. The Shadows took control of the trip as if Ozul were the one in charge, whirring by so fluidly that Sonia couldn't possibly have a chance to feel sick even though it was her first time traveling that way.
Before Rowan could do much more than blink, they were standing at the foot of Nicasi's bed, back in the Orderly plane once more.
Nicasi lay in the middle of his mattress where Lysander had arranged him with obvious care, nude from the waist up.
His jacket and tunic were draped neatly over the back of a chair, and two separate strips of red cloth lay across the seat. Rowan realized they were sleeves. Lysander must have cut them off so he could expose Nicasi's injuries without touching his mangled arm more than necessary.
