"Aren't you worried at all?" Rowan appreciated Yamm's vote of confidence, but he truly had hoped for a bit more guidance.
The god set his goblet down next to Rowan's. They looked almost indistinguishable from each other despite the different initial consistency of whatever it was Yamm was drinking.
Ozul listened quietly to the conversation. Like Wren, he'd barely touched his own cup.
"Worried?" A thoughtful expression formed on Yamm's features as he pushed an entire chocolate cake toward Wren. "That's such a useless emotion to a god, I hadn't considered it. But no…it isn't the word I would use."
Wren tensed as Yamm spoke. He pushed the cake away.
Rowan glanced at him, sensing the sudden change in his demeanor. Ozul briefly met Rowan's gaze, and he had a feeling the Shadow Being knew what was coming because he'd witnessed it all before.
