As Rowan talked to villager after villager, Mara appeared and forced the people gathered around to form a line, which he found hilarious. He faked his way through granting their requests, bestowing random blessings and waving the magic from his fingers to do whatever it wanted.
After dealing with nothing but poison lately, it felt good to be needed for something pleasant.
Lysander continued to nibble on his snacks, unfazed by Rowan's use of Disorder. Soon there were more people in front of him than on the dance floor, and the other adepts, Alaric, and Loma returned to observe from the edge of the small crowd. The villagers parted for Wren when he came to stand at Rowan's side.
"Are these people pressuring you?" The calmness of Wren's voice barely hid the warning under the surface.
