Rowan turned his head as Lysander crossed the room in a graceful sweep of blue and white. The Adept of Logic's gaze lingered on Alaric's strange sleeping position before landing on Rowan. Wren stiffened as the brother of the man he killed passed in front of him.
Rowan hated putting him in this position, but he knew Wren would have been more upset if he'd insisted he stay behind, especially because Wren hadn't actually disclosed anything about his past with Lysander directly.
Lysander placed the sword he always carried on an empty bed, then sat on the edge of Mara's mattress across from Rowan, careful not to disturb the sleeping novice. He peered at her for a moment before lifting his eyes to Nicasi. "Please finish what you're doing. We will get to the explanation."
