"Hurry and kiss me before Nicasi gets here." Wren slid as close to Rowan as possible as he sat next to him on one of the beds in the empty infirmary. With the pained crinkle on his brow and the downward tug of his lips, he looked more like the one who needed treatment than Rowan did.
As soon as Wren had closed the door behind them, the facade of his composure fell away to reveal the yearning that had been ignited by the concentrated energy Rowan had infused into him.
Even though Wren was handling the situation much better than Rowan did the first couple times Wren's magic affected him this same way, Rowan still felt guilty. He should have waited until they were alone before trying something new.
But to be fair, while Rowan certainly could feel Wren's energy inside him when he shared it with him, he never became over-sensitized just from the sharing alone. It always involved Wren's magic mixing with his own to remove the poison.
