Loma pulled up a chair on the other side of Rowan and kissed him on the cheek in greeting. The scent of roses wafted over him, her scent, and he was reminded yet again that she was miraculously, perfectly his sister in every possible sense of the word.
She stared around the pub with wide eyes, her face rapt as she took in the dancing and decorations. "Isn't this just fantastic? I've never knew parties like this existed. It's so bright, and happy. And…exciting. Alaric, aren't you glad you agreed to come?"
She beamed up at him as if to confirm how great it was to be there. The tight line of his brow loosened a bit under the intensity of her happiness, and he brushed the hair from her cheek. "Anything for you."
