"Are we riding on the shell of a turtle?" I asked, looking around us.
"Yes."
"How?"
"One day a year, you can come here through that tree by the castle. But only on the first day of spring. The turtle and the fairies come up to the surface to sing life back into the plants. At nightfall, they will go back into the ocean. We will have to leave before then or we will drown."
"Yes, I would really prefer that we leave before that happens." I chuckled nervously.
"You're not scared now are you? I figured the island is very big, so you won't be scared, but if you are, we can leave."
I laughed at his panicked tone. "No, I'm fine. Let's just leave before they start to descend."
"So you like it?"
"I think I still like the flaming sword more, but this is up there." I chuckled.
"Good." He whispered and released me.
