"Why here?"
"It just so happened to be the perfect spot, in the middle of camp where it's safer." He said nonchalantly.
'Ugh jeez.' I rubbed my forehead and walked into my tent. Entering, I felt a grin appear on my face, but quickly pushed it away.
It was nice to know that I would be so close to him. I knew I couldn't have him, but being this close is okay right?
'No. I mustn't get my hopes up.' I pushed the useless thought away and readied my cot and bedding.
"Charli? I have your dinner."
"Thanks Aeron, I'm almost done, I'll be right out." I finished fixing my duvet and walked out of my tent.
I took the tray from him and sighed loudly as I sat, leaning against a nearby tree. My tray sat in my lap while I leaned my head back against the tree, taking a small breather. I've been so sleep deprived the last few weeks, it was catching up to me.
