Hana visited the obstetrician's clinic after she escorted her parents to the airport. She wanted to know how the baby was doing. And after much deliberation, she thought it wouldn't hurt to try asking his doctor what abortion was like.
"Are you sure, Miss Shin?" asked the doctor while looking at Hana, who was filling out a form to consent to the abortion that she was going to do.
No, I'm not sure. I was never sure I would do this, Hana said in her head.
"I have no right to forbid or force you to do it, but I think you should think about it again," said the doctor, again filling the void between them.
Hana looked at the doctor with a look that was difficult to decipher. If only she could find this baby's father easily, she would think and stop doing this horrible thing. At least someone would help her bear this burden. Help her talk to her parents.
"Your baby is very healthy, Miss Shin," continued the doctor again.
