Chapter 11: Warrior Techniques
Abium knew if he didn't teach them anything and left them on their own, their life would be very miserable in the future, and they might get captured by Viscount's soldiers in the future.
'When Viscount hears about this ambush incident, he will put everyone's name in the wanted list. And if somehow Viscount learns that all the soldiers and servants are still alive, he might even dispatch army soldiers to kill them, using stupid reasons like killing the spies of another kingdom.'
Why was Viscount Gauvain so cruel towards commoners? No one knew the answer. But these types of arrogant noble characters were seen commonly all over the continent. They didn't care about the commoners' lives, but still, they had to maintain a respectful image in front of them.
If a kingdom was going to war, these nobles' only option to strengthen their army was to seek these commoners' help. Meanwhile, the commoners would believe whatever the news was spreading inside their lord's domain and do as their lord ordered them to do.
Also, these types of incidents occurred in many noble houses regularly, and these nobles would go to any length to eliminate the witnesses.
They knew that bad news like these would harm their reputation among the masses and noble circles.
Abium didn't care much about the nobles' selfish things.
'I already achieved what I want anyway.' He thought to himself, made ritual hand signs, and started muttering a strange incantation.
A few seconds later, he ended the incantation and spoke.
"Now repeat after me."
"In the name of Qrevna, Goddess of Judgment, I hereby promise that I will not reveal any secret about Abium to others without his permission."
The soul contract was performing an oath in the name of Qrevna, Goddess of Judgment, and if anyone breaks the promise, the contracted people must bear the consequences.
Although a few methods were available to unbind the contract, Abium knew only mages and some higher beings like Warlocks and Druids could do that.
He also didn't care much about these techniques spreading to others.
In the future, he was planning to select all the 'High-level' affinity people from the Peral Kingdom and train them using these techniques.
'Hmm, I'm also planning to save a few people in this life. They will help me in some ways during the Chaos Era. I must save the naΓ―ve Prince Huggin. Otherwise, the kingdom will be in more danger. I don't know what happened in the past, but the incident in the Bare Keep town caused the royal family to lose face. Prince Huggin lost one of his arms in the Bare Keep town. But because of that incident, he lost his life during the Grand Nobles' gathering when battling against Watson. As for Nicolaus Scott, Helena, Camilla, Kuran, Navarre, and Uncle Alfred, I will find a way and alter their futures.' He thought.
While he was in deep thoughts, all of them stood up and vowed themselves in the name of Qrevna to not reveal anything about him and the techniques to anyone.
Once the contract process was over, there was a slight change in the surroundings.
Unknown to everyone, an invisible power appeared in that area and placed some marks in their very souls.
Once everybody completed the soul contract, Abium took out the empty scrolls from his other leather bag and wrote three advanced warrior cultivation techniques and one advanced sword technique.
It took him approximately two hours to flawlessly copy those techniques from his memory.
Meanwhile, other soldiers and servants began to discuss what to do next.
They now learned that going back to Roseglen city was not an option.
All of the veteran soldiers had another worry inside their minds.
It was about their family.
"If Viscount found out that we are still alive, will he kill our family members?" A short warrior asked anxiously.
"If he finds out that you guys are still alive, he will kill everyone. In truth, all of your family will be under constant watch from now on." Abium replied while passing the written scrolls to Claude.
"What should we do now? Why can't we go back to the city and escape along with our family members?" The short warrior asked hurriedly.
"Do you think you could win against the garrison members? Can you win against the so-called hero Watson? Even If you somehow managed to defeat those garrison members, do you have the strength to fight against Viscount?"
The whole group went dead silent. Fight Viscount Gauvain? It would be like an ant trying to kill an elephant. Abium shook his head at their worrisome and answered.
"For now, all you have to do is hide somewhere and slowly improve your strength. When the right time arrives, I will tell you to act accordingly. Also, Uncle Claude, can you please save Uncle Alfred along with others?"
"You are not coming with us?" Claude asked in confusion. He suddenly felt that this kid had already planned everything.
"I think your strength would be enough to do that job, Uncle. Don't worry. You won't face the Hero vice-captain or the Viscount Gauvain at that time."
"It seems like you already know what would happen, kid," Claude said half-jokingly.
"'Cough!' Haha, it's just a guess, Uncle."
Meanwhile, Claude shook his head and asked as he thought of that stubborn butler.
"What should I do if your Uncle Alfred doesn't agree to accompany us? You know about his stubborn character, right?"
This time, almost everyone nodded in unison.
'Yeah, he won't agree to betray that Lawbarth family.'
But Abium was not a heartless person to let his only important person die in that city.
"Tie him up and kidnap him from there," He said without even blinking as if that was a reasonable thing to do.
"What?! Kid, that-"
"Uncle Claude, I know it is not right, but that is our only option," Abium said with a stubborn tone.
At that moment, everyone suddenly felt that this kid's character almost looked like that old man and shook their head.
Abium knew what they were thinking and spoke to change the subject while pointing his finger at the scrolls in Claude's hand.
"I will give you a simple explanation about these scrolls now. So, hear my words properly."
"I copied these three cultivation advanced techniques based on elemental affinities. As long as you start practicing 'Elemental Breathing' using the three advanced techniques, you will become a Tier-3 or Tier-4 Warriors in no time."
"A-Advanced techniques?"
"Where did you steal this, kid?"
"Oh god, is this an Advanced warrior technique?"
Everyone began to shout in a crazy state when he mentioned those techniques.
He quickly raised his hand to calm their voices and taught them the basics of these cultivation techniques.
"First is an 'Iron Skin' cultivation technique. It's a defense-based cultivation technique suitable for earth element affinity or metal elemental affinity users.
The next one is the 'Quickstep' cultivation technique. It's a rare agility-type technique practiced mostly by wind elemental, Space elemental, and darkness elemental affinity users.
The final one is the 'Herculean Strength' cultivation technique. It's a full attack type and can be practiced by all affinity users."
Once he finished the explanation of the cultivation technique, he soon took out another scroll and continued.
"Next is the advanced sword technique I had created personally. If you practice 'Sword Arts' using this sword technique, you will be able to reach intermediate level mastery within one year."
Meanwhile, Claude couldn't hide his curiosity, hurriedly opened the sword technique scroll and saw a strange pattern of a mysterious circle with countless strange lines in it.
Whenever he looked at a specific line, he felt a hint of sword knowledge hidden in it. At that moment, he knew that only a Master or Grandmaster Swordsman could create such a complicated technique!
"It is an advanced level technique! Kid, tell me which goddess do you became Champion of?" He now really felt some goddess had chosen this kid as her Champion.
Meanwhile, Abium chuckled inwardly and waved his hand.
"We are running out of time, Uncle. Go to Dust Gate Town and wait for my return. Also, you can find a dwarf named Kuran in market street. Ask him to reforge these silver armors; he will help you as long as you give him the 'Iron Skin' cultivation technique in exchange." He paused for a moment and then warned them.
"But be careful, though. Conceal your identities as much as possible and only reveal yourself when it is necessary."
"I'll watch over them," Claude said with a nod as he glanced at the servants.
"That's good." Abium also nodded and then added.
"I have to go on a separate way now. Please stay in Baron Auguinare's territory and strengthen yourselves," Abium spoke calmly and picked up his two leather bags. One had his belongings and a few days of rations, while the other had three new dresses.
At that moment, Claude thought of something and hurriedly asked.
"Where are you going? When will we meet again?"
"I still don't know much about my exact destination. But I will come back in a few weeks." He said calmly, turned around, and started walking in the western direction.
Soon, his figure mingled with the surrounding darkness and soon disappeared from there.
"Let's go. We have a long road ahead." Claude watched the place where Abium went a while ago and spoke.
Then, he turned around and walked towards the eastern direction.
