Chapter 56 - New Arrival

Chapter 56: New Arrival

Abium stood a few hundred meters away from that area and watched with a paled face.

'What a destructive power!' He was amazed by that illusionary bird's strength and soon noticed the fire didn't affect the young Prince. Instead, it only spread towards the surrounding walls and burned everything in its path.

"ARRGGGG," "NOO!" "Lord, help us!"...

Screams echoed as a few soldiers got caught in the fire, and soon they started running in different directions.

Before long, they fell and stopped moving, leaving only charred bodies behind.

The holy maiden was the one who received most of the damage from that scorching ball fire attacks. At that moment, she crashed onto the fort wall and stared at the sky with a bloodshot look.

Abium even saw burn marks all over her body. Alas, no sign of fear or anxiety appeared on her face. Instead, she bathed herself with a holy light spell, healed the wounds on her body, and flapped her wings again.

She then stood up, shot towards the sky, and confronted the red bird with her sword. The fight didn't last long, though. Jeanette soon imbued more mana into her sword within a few seconds and enveloped it again with an advanced sword aura.

Jeanette then flapped her white wings, got closer to the monstrous illusionary bird, and thrust the sword at its head.

SHIERRKKKK!

A hateful cry of a bird resounded in the sky, followed by a devastating explosion made of pure fire.

At the last moment, the illusionary bird stared deadly at the enemy and disappeared slowly, leaving nothing behind.

Abium stared at the dark sky with a wide gaped mouth and soon closed it.

At that moment, Jeanette also descended from the sky, landed a few meters away from Prince Raollet, and looked at him coldly.

Her eyes were mocking him to use his next trump card!

On the other hand, Abium suddenly thought of something and scanned the Holy Maiden.

'Her body strength should be on par with Peak Fifth-Tier Warrior. Along with light magic spells and divine spells, she would be more like an invincible warrior. She is way out of my league.'

Cold sweat started to appear on his forehead as he saw her status.

On the other hand, Prince Raollet also stood grimly and panted heavily.

He was clearly in a challenging situation now.

'Should I act?'

Abium thought now would be the right opportunity to display his attack and walked out of his hiding spot.

He then unsheathed his Sword of Wrath and stealthily crept towards the place where the Holy Maiden was standing.

Although he wasn't strong enough to give any fatal attack, his sword skill might restrict her movements for some time.

But just as he took three steps forward, a sonic boom came from up the dark sky and caused everyone to halt their current actions.

Then, everyone looked up towards the sky, saw a golden light coming from the eastern direction at an unimaginable speed, and directly crashed into the divine barrier.

No. It wasn't a mere golden light but a human with golden wings!

Slowly, the human flapped the golden wings, moved towards the top of the forcefield-like transparent barrier, and landed on it. Then, he looked down at the nobles and waved at them with a smile.

He wore a casual white dress with a long sword on his waist and appeared to be around 20 to 25 years old.

He had long curly blonde hair, olive skin, hooded hazel eyes, and a sharp nose.

He was none other than the Crown Prince!

Abium also stood there with a shocked face and soon nodded his head in understanding.

'Everything is making sense now.' He muttered inwardly and waited.

In the meantime, the Crown Prince looked at Raollet and let a sigh of relief.

After that, he unsheathed his long sword, aimed it at the already cracked area of the divine barrier, and thrust it full force.

A loud bang sound echoed, followed by creaking noises.

Slowly, the divine barrier started to crack everywhere and broke into millions of pieces.

A second later, the Crown Prince flapped the golden wings, started to descend slowly, and soon landed on the ground with a thudding sound.

Following that, he turned his face solemnly, shifted his gaze towards the group of nobles, and glared at them.

"Why didn't you come here a little earlier, Huggin? I almost got killed a while ago." Raollet commented in dissatisfaction.

"Shut up, Raollet! Every time you go on your own and get yourself involving in some huge mess. Now tell me what you have done to make Holy Maiden appear here?" Huggin asked while shifting his gaze towards Jeanette and creasing his brows.

Meanwhile, Raollet wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and spoke grimly.

"She is conspiring with Margrave and others to overthrow the current rule."

While they were talking, Abium started to ponder how the Crown Prince lost his arm in the past.

The Crown Prince's arrival here made Abium both relieved and puzzled.

'If both work together to confront these soldiers and nobles, they could easily escape. But somehow, the Crown Prince lost his right arm in the past and even got wounded deeply. What happened here?' He was confused.

'Wait. What if these guys captured Prince Raolett and tried to threaten him using the Prince's life?' Abium thought of the worst possibility and slowly nodded in understanding.

'It is possible. Should I also join this fight?' He firmly shook that idea.

At this moment, Abium didn't want to reveal his presence to anyone.

He knew that even if he joined the fight, he wouldn't be of much help to the Crown Prince.

Abium might hold himself up against the Fourth-Tier, but against the Fifth-Tier warriors, he would be no match against them.

His only option was to stay away from the battle and only aid them at the critical moments.

'Haa, Lockridge family members are always troublesome. At least, they are not so heartless as the Meader Family members. The whole southern kingdoms would have disappeared if the Lockridge family didn't support the people during the Chaos Era.' He sighed.

Casting those thoughts away, he shifted his gaze towards Crown Prince Huggin and waited patiently.

Meanwhile, Jeanette also returned to her calm self and spoke flatteringly.

"I didn't expect you'd make an impressive entrance, Your Highness. It's an honor to meet you!"

Although she showed a forced smile, she started to get anxious inside.

'This matter is going out of hands now. I need to think of something.' Her mind started to work at an impressive speed.

While she was thinking, the Crown Prince Huggin snorted coldly and responded.

"You can stop with the flattery, Young Lady. What you have done today must be explained in front of the United Council. You do realize that attacking and conspiring against the Royal Family of Peral will harm the Light Church's reputation in the council, right?"

Upon hearing the cold voice, Jeanette turned grim and spoke calmly.

"I'm well aware of that, Your Highness. That's why we're planning to apprehend the Young Prince and use him to negotiate with the Royal Family. After all, Pontiff was the one who privately gave me this task."

Crown Prince Huggin's expression stiffened as he heard those words.

A strange quietness appeared on the battlefield.

Huggin stared at her with bloodshot eyes and sprinted towards Raollet at an incredible speed.

But Jeanette appeared in front of him and blocked his path.

Simultaneously, she shifted her gaze towards the red-curtained carriage and shouted.

"Now is your time. Holy Knights, capture the Young Prince!"

Holy Maiden's words caused Huggin's face to be pale.

'Holy Knights?! They even have Holy Knights here?' He was deeply startled inside.

"Don't lay your filthy hands on him, you religious bastards! I will kill every one of you!" Huggin bellowed as he against Holy Maiden's sword attacks.

On the other hand, a few silver armored knights jumped out of the red-curtained carriage and started running towards Prince Raollet.

At that moment, this unexpected situation caused ordinary soldiers and nobles to be more perplexed!
