Ever since he was dismissed from his post as Stella's personal guard knight, Zafir focused on preparing his territory for his departure in spring next year. He still had five months but he wanted to finish all the necessary preparations as soon as possible so he could spend time with Stella later.
Further, he needed to drown himself in work, or else he would keep lamenting his separation from Stella and his goodbye to Valyenor. He might not even survive the five months of waiting time before he departs if he kept thinking depressing thoughts so he overwhelmed himself with work.
He kept helping with the castle's workload while doing his work in his territory and training to further strengthen himself when he had nothing else to do.
Zafir had been taking care of Alistair since he was fourteen such that it was saddening to part with it now. He couldn't help but reminisce.
