Zafir sighed in relief when he was finally in his room. He was relieved that the marriage talks were finally over. He was able to survive it without getting engaged.
With Hendrick marrying three wives, it was unlikely that Zafir would be pressured to get married. Stella would also not be pressured to fulfill her duty as a ducal daughter.
Zafir knew that was probably one of the reasons why Hendrick agreed to the marriage with Princess Cassandra. The latter truly could do anything for Stella. Zafir was once again awed at Hendrick's determination; he always did what he said he would do.
He felt bad for not helping out Hendrick though. He could have helped with the Princess of Valencia. But Zafir had no ducal blood in his veins. He was not even from Valyenor. If Valencia knew about that, they might take it as an insult to them for their beloved princess to be wed to someone like him.
