On the second day of the celebration, the dukes and key military personnel of each duchy were to convene with the emperor to discuss matters related to the imminent war.
With Hendrick's engagement settled, Henry was assured that he could confidently reply to his fellow dukes. He was sure that they would reiterate producing more heirs for Valyenor and suggest their daughters be wed to Hendrick.
Now he could confidently just say that the matter was already settled and they just had to wait for the announcement.
After breakfast, he walked to the emperor's quarters to escort him to the venue of their meeting. He informed the emperor of Hendrick's decision and Victor acted as if he was heartbroken.
"It saddens me that my daughters are not good enough for him," Victor sullenly complained. He was hoping that it would be one of his daughters that Hendrick would wed.
