"Of course, that's part of the reason. She seems to really like Stella so that is what took my interest at first. But I really like her now. And I already proposed to her," Hendrick dropped the bomb with a smile on his face.
The duke and duchess were left speechless for a few seconds.
'You got rejected. Instantly,' Stella wanted to remind him.
It was a relief that he didn't propose to her just because Alina seemed to like her. And yet, she still felt conflicted about him pursuing Alina.
"What did she say?" Duke Henry asked since the duchess was still at a loss for words.
"She rejected me," Hendrick suddenly wilted.
"What?! My son got rejected?" Duke Henry was taken aback. Even the duke wasn't expecting that. Hendrick was perfect in everything after all. Stella was probably his only weakness.
Duchess Amelia walked to Hendrick and rubbed his back. She also looked like she couldn't believe that her adorable son got rejected.
