Zafir had always been ready to die if it was for the people he counted as his family. Thus, there was no hesitation in him when he jumped off the cliff to save Stella.
But just when he thought he could finally get to her, the rope failed him. He decided to get rid of the rope and fall with Stella. He would protect her with his body. But he knew that Hendrick would surely catch his rope so that Stella would not fall.
But he and Hendrick thought too alike when it came to protecting Stella.
Before Zafir could cut his rope, Hendrick beat him to it. The latter even grinned as he said, "Catch my rope. Between the two of us, you are physically stronger."
Zafir was indeed stronger since he always trained much more than Hendrick. And between the two of them, Hendrick was the one who had to do a lot of studying. But Hendrick had always been faster; he won in speed.
