Stella took several deep breaths to steady herself and clear her mind. When she was finally calm and collected, she rose and announced, "I want to go to my room now."
She had taken two steps when she realized something important.
"Don't tell anyone about what just happened," she eyed Francis and Sarah seriously. She didn't want to be questioned at dinner again. No one probably saw it since everyone was busy with the events of the day.
"Yes, my lady," the two promised at the same time.
Stella stared at them for a few more seconds to emphasize her point before finally turning her back and walking to her room.
'What the hell was I doing?' she thought as she slumped on her bed.
'I already knew that Aiden would grow to have some feelings for me before he falls in love with Alina. I thought I have prepared myself to be able to resist his charms and affections and yet I easily fell prey to it.'
