Cold dread sets in when the beeping of the heart monitor suddenly became erratic and the green lines on the screen began to move up and down. Everyone watched it go with their hearts in their mouths. Anna collapsed into Cade's hands while Cade held her and kept a strong heart as he continued to watch the scene. Atlan could only look, his body could not move nor could he think. Snow tore the beating object that stuck to Chad's organs like a parasite. She held it with her blazing hand then tore it out of him. The lines on the monitor immediately flattened and the machine let out one long sustained beep. The object in Snow's hand dried up and turned into ashes,Snow let it pour through the spaces in between her fingers. Atlan staggered along with Ivan. Chad was dead.
