"How do you feel, child?" she asks me. There is a smile on her face as the words leave her lips.
"I feel okay. I am happy. "
She nods "Your mark is healing well,'' she adds.
I touch the mark that Lo gave me at the tent and the memories surge in. I don't want to be thinking about that while the goddess is here with me. I have the opportunity to ask her all the questions that I have running through my mind. I have the chance to find out things I don't know.
"My mark?"
I start with the first thought that comes to my mind. A mark is one that a mate gives his partner in the ceremony, I didn't think it was possible to have the ceremony outside the caves.
"Yes, you should know what a mark is.''
I nod.
"We haven't completed the ritual. Is it possible to have a mark without a ritual?"
