"The beta Miles is dead,'' Walker calls me with the news.
I am shocked because I expected to hear it from Colin first. The meeting with the council is supposed to happen tomorrow. It makes no sense that this would happen now.
"Fuck,'' I exclaim "What happened?''
I don't know what could have transpired from the last time I spoke to my son. It almost seems like this Lowell is too much of a troublemaker for my son. I know Col and he wouldn't be involved in this kind of thing.
Alanis looks up at me from the bed. it is late at night; I wasn't expecting this call.
Fucking hell.
"It wasn't Lowell's fault. They challenged him and he won. One of the survivors ran away before he could end up like the other members of the pack. They called an emergency council meeting for tomorrow. We are going to have to postpone the one with Lowell."
I frown.
